 Alert Admin 		Yes, U are correct, there was the sale of UE.  Also the sale of a division of Insurance associate ( or something ) in HK
plus some shop houses if I can recall ... NO capital was distributed so far and there was no mentioned of how to use this capital .
( If I recall correctly )
GE just announce a special dividend . 
What is expected of OCBC....the market has answer by its share price today. DYODD

 Alert Admin 		WOWOW.....as expected a great set of result from GE ...plus a bonus special dividend.
So OCBC result is tmr ....will it be good ....its given ...it is more a matter of how good and any angpow ?
Or a special valentine gift .

to the holders of

US$1,000,000,000 3.15% Subordinated Notes due 2023 Callable in 2018 issued under the US$10,000,000,000 Global Medium Term Note Program (ISIN Nos. US69033CAA71 and US69033DAA54) (the " Notes" )

In accordance with Condition 5(d) of the terms and conditions of the Notes, irrevocable notice is hereby given to the holders of the Notes that Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited has elected to, and will, redeem all of the outstanding Notes on 12 March 2018 (the " Redemption Date" ). The Notes will be subsequently cancelled and then de-listed from the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (the " SGX-ST" ) pursuant to the procedures of the SGX-ST. Terms used and not defined in this Notice of Redemption are used with the same meanings ascribed thereto in the terms and conditions of the Notes.

The redemption price (the " Redemption Price" ) for the Notes will be the Optional Redemption Amount, as set out in the pricing supplement dated 4 September 2012 in respect of the Notes.

On the Redemption Date, the Redemption Price for the Notes will become due and payable and interest shall (unless the Issuer defaults in the payment of the Redemption Price) cease to accrue on or after the Redemption Date.

Great Eastern in talks with Malaysia' s largest pension fund

SINGAPORE (Feb 5): Singapore-listed Great Eastern Holdings is said to be in exclusive talks with Malaysia' s state-owned pension fund to sell it a minority stake in its Malaysian insurance unit.

The deal between Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Bhd and the Employees Provident Fund could fetch as much as US$1 billion ($1.3 billion) though negotiations are in early stages and there is no certainty a transaction will materialise, according to Dow Jones Newswires.

Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) has over 3 million policies in force and a network of 17,000 agents in Malaysia at the end of 2016. As of last Sept, the fund managed 771.2 billion ringgit ($261 billion) worth of investment assets


Even if no deal is reached, the Great Eastern could list its insurance unit through an initial public offering in Malaysia, said Dow Jones, and Malaysia' s largest pension fund can still opt to partake in the potential listing, according to people Dow Jones spoke to.

The talks are to meet a June deadline set by the Malaysian central bank deadline, mandating that insurers operating in the country are at least partially owned by locals. The firms have to bring down their stakes in their local insurance units by at least 30%, according to the Bank Negara Malaysia.

It has been going up for 3 consecutive days supported by buyback.  About time to retrace, buyback or not. Normally follow up by smaller amount but down more compared to the other 2 local bank

Rebounded off the lows today and closed higher than opening on the back of high vol

mkt makers collecting on the cheap from panick sellers

2 gaps to fill and once collected enough will rally again to fill the gaps
