 Alert Admin 		Container volume at major Chinese port increased in mid-June Katherine Si | Jun 25, 2020 The container volume of eight major Chinese ports increased 2.5% year-on-year during the period of mid-June. The cargo throughput at major coastal ports increased 2.4%. The export container volume increased 0.2%, among which the growth rate of Xiamen port, Guangzhou port, and Shenzhen?s Yantian port exceeded 10%. Domestic container volumes increased 9.3%, while the growth rate of Tianjin port, Shanghai port, Ningbo-Zhoushan port and Guangzhou port exceeded 10%.

 Alert Admin 		Obviously right? Volume up of course revenue up. Dont need DBS to tell right? Revenue up than cashflow increase unless theres fraud or they cannot collect receivables right? Any 5 yr kid can tell u this.

But fact is, this junk is sinking since IPO

THREE OVERSOLD SINGAPORE REITS AND TRUSTS REVEALED

Dear readers, there are currently three oversold Singapore Reits and Trusts.

These Reits and Trusts are:

1)BHG Retail Reit

2) FSL Trust

3) HPH Trust

BHG Retail REIT is the first retail REIT sponsored by an established PRC homegrown retail property operator, Beijing Hualian Department Store Co., Ltd., (the &ldquo Sponsor&rdquo ) listed on SGX. BHG Reit is currently undervalued with a Price-to-Book ratio of 0.71. The Reit has a dividend yield of 6.56%.

FSL Trust is a trust whose business is in leasing services across major maritime segments. The trust has paid dividends till 2012 and it presented investors with two cash options for Feb 2020 and May 2020. The trust is undervalued with Price-to-Book ratio of 0.45. However, investors may wish to note that this trust is currently placed under SGX&rsquo s watchlist.

 

HPH Trust needs no introduction. The trust had fallen price from USD 1.01 at IPO to the current USD 0.115. With a Price-to-Book ratio of 0.30, and a high dividend yield of 12.25% (partly due to the low price), I believe this trust is likely to be privatized in time to come

What?s the point of having 0.3 X book value when it assets are depreciating very fast. One lesson I learnt is that compare to other office or industrial REITs, shipyard assets are a maximum of 30 years. And once the assets have less than 15 years of its lease left, the assets will depreciate are a steep rate. I have give up on HPHT for years, can someone confirm how many years lease left. I reckon it is between 10-20 years left.

2019 full year throughput of HPH Trust?s ports was 3% below last year. YICT?s throughput was 1% below last year. Combined throughput(N1) of HIT, COSCO-HIT and ACT (collectively ?HPHT Kwai Tsing?) was 6% below last year
? The overall trend in outbound cargoes to the US was weak in 2019 and declined by 9% when compared to 2018. The drop was enlarged to 19% in the fourth quarter of 2019 due to a high base volume in 2018 caused by the frontloading of US cargoes prior to the expected tariffs hike in 2019. On the other hand, outbound cargoes to the EU was above 2018 by 4%
? Excluding the impairment impact in 2018, 2019 full year NPAT was HK$1,821.7 million, HK$221.3 million or 11% below last year and NPAT attributable to unitholders was HK$528.2 million, HK$209.5 million or 28% below last year
? 2019 full year Distribution Per Unit (?DPU?) was 11.00 HK cents
? In 2019, HPH Trust formed the Hong Kong Seaport Alliance (?HKSPA?) with Modern Terminals Limited (?MTL?), our key competitor in Hong Kong. HKSPA aims to increase the overall competitiveness of Hong Kong ports. With the berths of our ports in Kwai Tsing and MTL operate as one port, we could improve our operational efficiencies and increase our handling capabilities, also driving towards additional operational cost savings. Kwai Tsing ports had achieved savings of HK$50 million from HKSPA in the nine months ended 31 December 2019

Outlook Overview
? The COVID-19 outbreak in early 2020 has spread rapidly worldwide. The global supply chains and business activities have been disrupted, resulting in a slump in global cargo volume
? HPH Trust, being a major transshipment hub in the region and the premier gateway to China for foreign trade, was inevitably affected: COVID-19 disrupted the manufacturing activities in China as factories completely suspended production after CNY. Although there were signs of easing in China starting from March, the COVID-19 outbreak was then spread rapidly worldwide and many countries including the US and Europe have been locked down
? Based on the latest development, manufacturing in China has mostly resumed and a lot of overseas countries have loosened the lockdown and border controls. It is expected that the negative impact of COVID-19 on our volume will gradually be reduced
? During this difficult business environment, HPH Trust has been exploring different initiatives to improve the performance. HPH Trust remains vigilant about the situation and will continue to focus on operational efficiency and cost management, as evidenced by the HKSPA, to increase the competitiveness of our ports

Chinese city-gas distributor Shenzhen Gas on Thursday (4 June) said it signed an agreement with the Yantian District Government, CNPC Natural Gas Sales Company and Yantian Port Group to jointly develop the construction of a Shenzhen offshore international liquified natural gas (LNG) bunkering hub.

The project aims to provide LNG bunkering facilities at the Guangdong-Macau-Hong Kong greater bay area in order for it to become an environmentally friendly port area. 

The project is to be implemented over several phases beginning with several 8,000 to 10,000 cubic LNG bunkering vessels  servicing customers in the area.

The company estimates a potential bunkering volume of up to 230,000 metric tonnes (mt) per year when starting operations.

The facility is expected to achieve a bunkering volume of 2 million mt per year when matured, producing an annual output value of RMB 10 billion (USD1.4 billion)
