SIA wont cut salary one, its like SAF wont cut salary. Becos of Covid, my pilot dream is now gone. Good bye to my selection for both SIA and Scoot, I didnt even receive any news when will it resume. Working temp job at changi everyday, I see all the grounded aircraft... now 96%.. the maintenance and ground crew salary must be bleeding buckets daily.

Same for SIA. No bailout. Maybe another company  take over or buy over SIA  at dirt cheap price (Less than 50cents??) to safeguard SIA, just  like Hyflux and help it run much better. We can see another Hyflux case in the making.....No one should be bailing SIA...from what i see ..as per Hyflux case! Buying SIA and its bond comes with risk too! Even going to Hong Lim also no use....get prepare.... More extract from BT: " THE public can' t be asked to bail out struggling water treatment company Hyflux' s retail investors, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Masagos Zulkifli has said. But national water agency PUB could still take over the Tuaspring desalination plant - which is expected to come with a negative valuation - to safeguard Singapore' s water security. MPs from both sides of the aisle voiced their concerns in Parliament on Monday over the impact of the Hyflux debt debacle, which has dimmed the star of a former stock darling and prompted PUB to issue a default notice to Hyflux' s wholly-owned subsidiary, Tuaspring Pte Ltd (TPL). PUB has warned that it could axe a water purchase deal and take over the Tuaspring plant, Hyflux' s key asset - but at no extra cost, if it waives its right to compensation from TPL. The agency has also said that its actions should not be used as a reason for an Indonesian consortium to withdraw from a planned rescue deal. Mr Masagos said the termination, which would be done " to ensure that a critical asset remains in safe hands" , does not disadvantage investors, and in fact " positively impacts" the value of both Hyflux and its shares. In response to MP Seah Kian Peng (Marine Parade GRC) on whether the Government may bail out mom-and-pop holders of Hyflux perps and prefs, Mr Masagos said " investors in search of returns must understand that returns come with some risks" . Holders of Hyflux' s preference shares and perpetual securities - many of them retail investors - are claiming some S$970 million from Hyflux. More than 100 investors demonstrated at Hong Lim Park over the weekend, with a plea for compensation from PUB among their requests."

Very easy to solve the problem:s 1) issue rights 2) sell some of the planes to cash out 3) cut salary at least 40%

There will be severe outrage, if SIA is bailed out now.  They can proceed to make a massive rights issue at 1 for 1 at 99cents, if they really need the money.

The japan CEO took $1 salary when JAL was in bad shape. This is tone from the top.
?The fact that I worked for no salary influenced the staff," he told South China Morning Post some years later. "They could see that I was desperate to rebuild the company, even though I had no links to JAL previously." https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/cnainsider/buddhist-monk-ceo-kazuo-inamori-save-japan-airlines-jal-bankrupt-11033866 |

SIA is not a loved company in Singaporeans eye - they cater to the Business Class more than to the ordinary Singaporeans, charge high ticket prices to Singaporeans and cut the Economy Seats on the non-stop flights to the USA and replace with Business Class.  Let them fly their Business Class pasenges anywhere they want now.  Good for them.   | ||||

Yes, many ordinary Singaporeans would reject a bailout of SIA.

It would be very unfair to bail out SIA when it has done nothing much to retrench or slash pay of air crew and staff.  There are many other companies and industries hurting, where the staff have not enjoyed high salaries or jet setted around the world.
