x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Thank you for your insights and very informative comments. Like many othersin this forum, I am also currently holding on NOL shares and still believing in   shipping. It only cross my mind to unloading my NOL shares to move on to other counters till i read your post. By the way NOL free float might be lower than what is being posted on SGX est 33% floated but majority might be hold by a few players only. THose players and Temasek call the shot and determine whether ship go or down regardless of market condition. What i can confirm is currently ship NAV = S$1.42 and share price is only like 60% of what it actually worth. To get a rough estimate of real value of ship, u gona check out the 2004 temasek privatisation deal which value the whole group at S5.3B on offering of S$2.80 per share for total 1.9Billion share that time. Lastly Temasek had invested over US$2 Billions for the 37% shares holding on top of the orignal 30% it owned before the 1994 privatisation, so how much NOL is worth make ur guess. NObody know...

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	But basing on hearsay, that GIC and Temasek are big players in the market, and judging the SGX now being controlled by appointed GIC man, if these two-in-one sovereign institution were net shortists hedging their investments, I believe they would not allow price to rise until they find the right time to cover their shorts, which if they had executed well above $1.20 (bfore APL saga), would give them enough profit of a more greedier sum of 50 cents profit might be around 70 cents. I assume that if this assumption is correct, and if they were presumed to   cover their presumed shorts, they might do the whip saw upwards with good harvest again. Just thinking only. I also studied the financials and the assets that potentially can be unlocked. Till now, it is everyone guesses on how much NOL really worth if it is taken private? Can I seek your professional advice if you have a ball part figure per share based on the total shareholding of 2.6B if NOL is delisted? Taken into consolidation of what Temasek has bought and paid  in the early years and rights issues. Most likely it one shoot big price movement then bam buyout price for retail investor to accept and delist process.  The key point is how much hidden value NOl had still in store and whether it get a fair price in consideration of the non core assets it had. Check out APl fact sheet in NOL website and u know ship still got lot of gems hidden, time to unlock and free retail investors.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	NOL still got some more quality non core assets to be unlocked, NOL paid US$850M in 1997 to take over APL purely for the technologhy and most important the 3PL asset it had.  250M of the total 850M had been unlocked and US900M proceed, so we still got like 600M worth of hidden value asset waiting to unlock, maybe can pop out another US1B proceed for those. Temasek valued NOL group in 2004 at around $2.80 per share and total share outstanding that time is 1.9Bil share, that work out to be around $5.4B. IF temasek valuation is correct, ship is currently worth a lot more than current share price. Hope Temasek find a buyer or simply do a complete exit from container shipping and sell off all those new ships and unlock all asset value. But hehe i know temasek would not exit the container shipping business cos pressure from both spore and us government to keep the shipping line operating due to TPP.

STI component stock got changed over and the heavy weight and super expensive $50+ stocks all got replaced with YZJ, SATC and UOL lol. Look like STI is gona go lowers since no more anchor stocks to hold it. More selling off of expensive blue chip ongoing so STI might test new low. NOL just wait for either a  merger or Temasek buyout, no point seeing the share price since Foreign fund are going to movr out of asia and back to US. SGX gona be very quiet for a few years sadly, no excitment same go for rest of asia, we in slow growth mode. excitment would be in the US / European market since theri valuation now are very attractive after few year of bloodbath.
