Your national airline never give big discounts to Singaporeans. Other airlines much cheaper. And the food in Economy class is now worse than many other airlines. Except Qantas. Haha.

No dividend this year and next year unless dramatic turnaround. Virus spread more in plane and airports, it seems. Time will tell.
Testing $5 tmr. Rights issue beckoning in horizon. To save the airline, massive rights to be issued. Temasek needs to underwrite all. Actions done with union and pay cuts only temporarily mitigate losses. Without top line company is burning cash. So needs funding soon. Singapore lockdown imminent if infected cases rise. Dorscon Red maybe but needs more severity in local transmission. Gov will have to mull over it cautiously to press this buttons. This will last another 2 months without lockdown. 30 days to see daylight with lockdown. Urge our Government to seriously consider lock down. Short term pain, long term gain. |

In SIA?s third-quarter fiscal year 2020 earnings report, the airline carried around S$7.66 billion worth of gross debt. Its balance sheet had only S$1.57 billion in cash. Net debt stood at S$6.1 billion, while the carrier is paying finance costs of around S$54.7 million per quarter. Looking over at its cash flow statement, it?s not a pretty picture either. For the first nine months of the fiscal year 2020, operating cash flow was S$2.57 billion, but capital expenditures totalled S$4.11 billion. He best cut his own pay rather than company cut his job. But, that is likely on the wall now. Sacrifice one SGD22k job, can employ 5 new young grads. This will be a net increase of job creation of 4 jobs in Singapore, and support 5 families. A better deal for all.
