Cutting old n senior management .Probably old n inefficient just order pple to work type n enjoy high bonus . jia liao bee pole should axe to cut cost early.many old senior staff only know push low level to work n enjoy credit n high compensation package .That why CEO just cut without blinking eye .

Bad news ... read today news starhub ending its cable service ... asking customer to switch to fibre ... 1) extra work leh ... and it is cutting staff ... low moral ... can see a lot will run away and join TPG 2) So unhappy customer ... no more Discovery channel also can see a lot of cable TV customers will instead just cut, rather than switch 3) extra cost also ... add fibre need $$$, remove cable need $$$ 4) this coming result expect poor, now next result also expect poor liao |

Added a bit more short hedge at 1.99 ...  US now cheong a few days ... any small problem can cause sell off again .. this will be a good hedge

Cutting staff is an affirmation that the business is bad. Unlike SingTel, Starhub depends solely on local subscribers for its business. With the addition of a new player, the pie will just get smaller. One can observe that its business is really dwindling. Its Vivocity outlet has shrank from a ideal location on the 2nd floor, to an obscured corner on B1. The crowded and non-stop Q doesnt exist anymore. Oftentimes, you see more staff than customers at the new outlet. Glodman may call a buy, but it didnt tell you the timeline, $2.60 perhaps is 3 years from now. Savings from staff cutting will only be realized in the 2nd year after the cut. The severance package will further erode its earnings this year and 1H of next. $2.00 is probably the max. |

You can see from starhub weakness today. Most of the stocks chion but starhub not chiong. It is weak. Not only cut employees cost they are looking to share some facilities to bring down cost? This tells you they are having hard times. Result most likely will not be good. | ||||

Price will go up b4 announcement date and will drop after released earning report be it good or bad. That is the reason starhub share price didn't drop a lot as compare to other blue-chip stock recently...
