With 100s of branches, we will see more and more contribution from India. The power of Consumers Banking. 3 to 5 years of strong growth from India is the least we can expect. By then, Greater China would have recovered and prospect shinning bright. DBS used to benchmark itself with StandChart. Off hand, I cannot recall the figure but I am quite sure we have overtaken them significantly and since quite few years ago too. HSBC is the next, although a bit far fetch. HSBC profit use to be many times of DBS. We are still way off but surely closing the gap slowly. Currently, their profit is about 4 times of ours only.   Very unlikely we can catch up but we may one day made half of their earning. Not to forget, we were making only half a Bn not too long ago. Never say never, especially if we ever acquire StandChart. Singapore needs to have our very own mammoth bank if we want to anchor holds our status as the 3rd Financial Hub of the world. Anyway, we are almost sure to see higher DPU from 2nd qtr onwards. Congrats to all holders.   By the way,  I am still waiting to buy more (was in the q for quite a while and adjusted the price till at 34.5). Seems unlikely to get le.
