49.7 per cent of the volume for Geo was marked as SHORTS yesterday. Average price of 0.378. Geo is a darling for the shorts because of its scrip availability, active trading, and the company being in a industry unloved by those sold on climate change. I am surprised the current low M42 coal price is not putting a big dent on the share price. As yet, there is no report of any substantial shareholder increasing their stake, so it remains a mystery to me who is fueling the stock' s demand side. Momentum traders (because stock is on a firm uptrend and hit 52-week high traders sometimes like to pile in until they see a reversal) or genuine accumulation (secretive or just not above 5% stake, and hence no need to report) or shorts culling (some traders catching the shorts)... |

for now, even can get at 37.5, hard to sell at 38.0 for peanuts. cos sell q at 38.0c is a hefty 2.6m sh. contra players also not keen to buy at 37.5 cos buy q also quite low. think bbs and kateds taking school holiday breaks across causeway spending contras donation. no offence intended.

Answer: Yes, the Group currently has a cash profit of around US$10 per tonne when ICI4 coal price has been ranging between US$48 &ndash 50 per tonne in the last few months. Further, the Group has a resilient cost structure whereby some of its cash costs move in tandem with ICI4 coal prices.

last fri, total done 14.9m sh. out of which 9.4m done at 39.0, 5.0m at 38.5, and 0.5m at 39.5. think bbs cont to buy big time. if trend cont, likely to break 40c barrier this week. currently geo starting the morning with a breather for bbs to contin collec on the cheap. maybe tussle btw kateds vs bbs. kated putting huge barrier at 38.5c. bbs struggling to break it. who knows if bbs can break it, kateds may join bbs to push beyond 40c. just opnn, dyodd. |
