Have over 40 stock in my portfolio lah - need to be diversified. Cannot have REITS only. Haha - maybe just enjoy poking fun at OCBC Management - but they have been seen to be very stingy after DBS and UOB. Serves them right!!!

different house gave different estimates. when compared to the highest estimate, it is a tad below if compare to the average, it is a tad above. The estimate was already high to begin with as record earnings are already expected following strong results reported by dbs and uob, as well as US banks.

News reported OCBC results were below expectations. While both DBS and UOB results blew away expectations. This is likely the cause of OCBC' s selldown today. I think it is kind of smart. Both UOB and DBS are wooing investors with high dividends, OCBC decides not to join the party. Once the hype subside the bubble burst a bit, then just raking up returns to the dividend will cause all the spotlight to be on OCBC Now the market is acting like disgruntled child, time to scoop low.

SINGAPORE (May 7): Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation reported a earnings of $1.11 billion for 1Q18 ended March, an increase of 29% from $861 million a year ago (1Q17). This was slightly higher than the mean of five broker estimates of $1.09 billion compiled by Thomson Reuters. OCBC Bank says the robust year-on-year performance was underpinned by strong net interest income growth, higher wealth management income, lower allowances and higher contributions from the group&rsquo s overseas banking subsidiaries. Both OCBC and it' s GE have always been very stingy. GE gives out very low dividends not only to shareholders but to policyholders as well. And for many decadeds, OCBC has been known to be ultra slow in upgrading it' s technology. |

Many notice OC has one of the best set of Q1result....ROE double digit. 2018 China is opening up its financial market abd is OCBC keeping its cash for this ? Hmm ALso GE Msia is selling part for regulation need.....$$? I think 2018 cld be OCBC year. |
