 Alert Admin 		on the contrary, KC actually has gone up after the merger completion .
it closed at 7.34 last day of cum entitlement .
today based on current prices , for each KC prior, is worth 5.47 plus 19.1x 0.117 - so it' s about 7.70 equivalent compared to when it was 7.34 on 22 Feb.

personally I have taken profit on part of my KC at equivalent of above $8, but am stilll holding onto some KC. I just treat the SMM as special dividend payout and already dispose them.
can always buy later when SMM settle all their possible consolation etc.
also can buy LC when it turns uptrend again

 Alert Admin 		After the split, there should be independent, kepcorp share holders get   their shares, the new merger should progress on their own, just got to remind ourselves that the valuation for KOM is 12.2 cents, this is free money! If you believe in its potential and don' t have immediate need for the money, just wait long time shareholder of Keppel! Patiently wait for the monetarization of their assets!

It is an accounting thing, no real impact.
Basically it is like this, when you start a biz you put in some capital. When you make profit and keep it, it became retained profit, which adds to your capital (equity). Now you distribute the dividend, so you must deduct it out from the retained earning account.

SCM is currently trading well above its NAV of 7 cents, so immediate upside has limits. This will change with new contract wins and STI addition slightly in the near term. 
 
Keppel on the other hand is trading at 0.8x book value of $6.70+/-, with upcoming dividend of 0.18, as well as 500M cash collections from KOM, and other asset monitisations. The next set of numbers could be really good. So based on this Keppel have a greater possibility to head upward in the near term.
