Banks full year result will be out end Jan or early Feb. Alrdy w 3 qtrs of good result OCBC is expected to be one of the best of the 3 banks. Not surprise if a increase in dividend payout too. Dyodd Happy investing.

Because cost of funds is cheaper on two counts. One, people wld find it cheaper taking up a hsing loan cos it' s cheaper to service. Two, most, if not all, property counters have tons n tons of debt. So, with lower interests, they cld save quite substantially in interest costs n show more rosy NPAT.

US 10-yr yield just dropped < 2.9%, not seen for quite a while. If this is the new trend going forward, then local bks are gonna have a problem tweaking their NIM upwards. Next yr, their profits might potentially lose some of its shine. So, may be advisable to adopt a more cautious stance. DYODD as always though. | ||||
