JOHOR BARU: Axis AME IP Sdn Bhd has added a new feather to its cap with the entry of Beyonics Technology Ltd at its RM1.2 billion i-Park industrial city project in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor.

Beyonics is a Singapore-based company that manufactures high performance electronics products, precision plastics and metal components. 

The company has chosen i-Park for relocation because of its infrastructure offering, location, security and competitive rates.

  According to Axis AME IP executive director Datuk Stewart LaBrooy, the construction of Beyonics&rsquo state-of-the-art facility at i-Park had commenced and it would be ready by June next year.

  Axis AME IP is a 50:50 joint venture between the Axis group and Johor-based AME group.

  The company is investing over RM600 million to develop the 93.08ha i-Park, which includes a SME city. SME city is meant for small and medium enterprises while i-Park houses multinational companies (MNCs).

  Since its launch in January 2011, the project has attracted top multinationals and SME industries from Singapore, Japan, Switzerland, German, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United States and Australia. 

&ldquo i-Park is a carefully-conceived industrial project. It is the first tenant-ready park with full infrastructure before construction even starts,&rdquo said LaBrooy.

&ldquo More than 80 per cent of the space at i-Park has been either leased or sold to MNCs. The project is attractive because of the logistics and we have all the services, including plug-and-play solutions.

&ldquo The MNCs like it because of its high security features. The environment is different compared with other industrial developments. With all the product offerings and services, our cost is still very competitive,&rdquo he added.

  LaBrooy is bullish about the industrial sector in Johor and expects Phase 3A and 3B of the i-Park project to be fully taken up by the end of next year.

  Phase 1, 2 and 3A have been fully sold, while the take-up rate for Phase 3B and 3C is around 40 per cent.
