I think they manipulate through Ukraine war, Taiwan tension.
Forcing USD up, other currencies down. Other countries inflation. USA no inflation is the prime objective in this currency war.

Is USA still a leader!?
I find that very interesting, USA keeps printing cost free toilet paper, USD, it caused inflation and devaluation of currency in other countries. Prices increase everywhere worldwide due to USA monetary policy. This country should not lead the world, but we have no choice for next 30 years. With appreciation of USD exchange rate, USA inflation somehow can be controlled in short term. 2023 might be a short bull year. Buy on weakness. Dyodd. |

Few things you need to understand, 1) Property -Who is the main buyer for fresh property - the rich PR (mainly PRC / HK) / new citizen - someone snap 5 condo units if you read the news, purpose? - low SG birthrate, not forgetting it takes 2 baby (1 male 1 female) for 1 demand BTO HDB, BTO per year is more than 100k? which needs 200k baby, not forgetting we have more old ppl, when they leave the world, 1 more supply hit the market. - Many young couple (Singaporean) took heavy loan at least 500k for expensive condo, with 2 reason one is hope to sell for profit, two is now interest rate is expected to go higher, buy now is cheaper. ==> key worry to look at is how many rich can SG bring in to support demand and debt servicing. Better be yes or property might peak anytime. 2) Labour - companies unable to fill job? unemployment low? From lots of aged ppl working as cleaner / carboard etc to now you see a lot much lesser, replaced by all the " Pass" , where they go to? Is job more than total SG population? It' s the pay ba, I had heard so many ppl complain, a good pay job can have up to thousands of application, so many people looking, try search for job ads, you can see Accountant doing full sets required ACCA / equal, fresh welcome, pay range 3-5k. Really??? 15 years back, this post worth at least 6-8k. My view is High Cost of living not affecting the rich coz cost transfer down to the working group. 3) Interest Rate - DBS and UOB stop fixed rate loan - CPF rate maintian no change - Fed likely to increase 75/50/50 bbp next few meeting, 2023 market sees 1-2% more. 4) Propulation spread - SG have more rich compare to other country - SG have more debt as well due to housing 2/3 population need to service house loan 5) Inflation - pending MAS to revised annual target, likely 5-6%, yesterday report 7%, with core at 5% - Food and serving main driver - Utility and gas slow by 0.1 compared to previous month but real drop is gas (petro) not eletricity (my guess) Anyway, I hope SG can do well too so have more money to help the poorer one, but data wise, it' s stressful to the economy, same view per the speech from LHL. have a nice weekend

Singaporeans are very affluent despite higher inflation. Look at the recent property launches. Snapped up on first day. High cost of lving seems not affecting many Singaporeans. The main reason is because the unemployment rate is very low. Labur market is very tight. A lot of companies still can' t find workers. |

Like I say, no way sg inflation to remain at the initial projection by gavernment. Singapore' s core inflation rises to 5.1% in August, inching towards 14-year high (channelnewsasia.com) |
