Dropped 4 cents, are people have given up hope on the privatisation. 1.40 is a critical level. The BOD/Management should update the latest development of whether the aforesaid matters have ceased and cannot keep the matter in limbo.    | ||||

The presence of Quarz Capital seems to motivate many list co to enhance/unlock their value...look at TECKWAH.. Quarz Capital ups stake in Sunningdale Tech, becomes substantial shareholder TUE, SEP 08, 2020 - 7:13 PM FUND manager Quarz Capital Asia is now deemed a substantial shareholder of Sunningdale Tech, with the purchase of 4,600 shares via a market transaction on Monday having bumped its shareholding to 5.001 per cent. The bourse filing reporting the change in interest on Tuesday noted that Quarz Capital' s interest in the precision manufacturer entirely comprises deemed interests, and it is deemed interested in the shares in its capacity as investment advisor and fund manager of various funds and accounts. Jan Moermann, chief investment officer of Quarz Capital, said Sunningdale has progressed well despite the difficult environment, continuing to provide dividends to shareholders and showing strong growth in its healthcare segment. He added that Quarz Capital is proud of Sunningdale for being a domestic producer of surgical masks, which contributes to Singapore' s self-sufficiency in medical consumables. " The Covid-19 situation provided a great opportunity to increase our stake in this high-quality company at an attractive price," he said. " The company is still trading at an attractive discount to book value and we look forward to it further ramping up its operations in 2021." |

Good set of results 2Q20 was very strong to cover an obviously poor 1Q. Cash flow generation was robust with positive operating cash flow of ~$46m, net cash position strengthened. Gross margin expanded very substantially in 2Q to near recent times high of 14-15%. Healthcare business also grew quite substantially of > 17% led by Covid (though a relatively small base). Looks like a good turnaround play, laggard among the tech stocks. https://www.theedgesingapore.com/capital/results/sunningdale-tech-reverses-its-losses-earnings-83-mil-1h20 |

Credit to the management and board for timely updates and disclosures to investors - China' s operations have fully resumed while Singapore operations have received approval from MTI to continue operations given that their manufacturing facilities fall under essential services, particularly for the healthcare industry.  Another 5c worth of dividends to be paid out in the coming weeks while valuations remain at distressed levels, relative to other SGX listed manufacturing peers.  |

Anyone has their eyes on this? Valuations are compelling trading at distressed levels of 0.4x PB, dividend yield of 9.5% (of course one may question if that is sustainable but there is a pending 5c dividend due to be ex d in Apr/May). The last time this stock traded this low was back at GFC crisis in 08/09. Based on last reported FY19 results, they generated $48.3m of operating cash flow and free cash flow of $13.7m. The strength of USD has historically been proven to be beneficial to Sunningdale but then again, nobody knows the full impact the Covid-19 has on the business. The diversified exposure globally and across healthcare, consumer and automotive sectors would be up for test on its resiliency. With EV/EBITDA of just 3.4, seems like a prime target for major shareholders Koh Boon Hwee, Sam Goi and co. to come together and privatise the company? |

Looking at their dividend track record over the years, it has been either steady or climbing slowly year-on-year. Despite FY19 being a challenging year, they maintained their dividends at 8c/share from FY18. If you study their free cash flow generation, it has consistently been positive over the last few years so would expect some resiliency on that note. They have ~190m shares outstanding and 8c on that is ~$15.2m and they' ve managed $16.4m positive FCF last year having taking into account those dividends.  Of course, the COVID-19 situation should see an impact to their businesses but it should normalise and helpful that they have a global footprint in terms of their manufacturing plants.

Any thoughts about this? Seems like it has gone back to recent lows at around $1.20. Offers good value at 0.6x PB and yield of 6.7% | ||||

1.32/33 has been a strong resistance tested couple of times recently but have not been able to break convincingly but you are right - have similarly noticed strong accumulation around present levels after building a base for couple of weeks at 120 levels seems like it is building a higher base at 125-128 now

if you look at p/b valuations, Sunningdale is the cheapest of the lot and had not rallied much despite the tech sector re-rating. recent 3Q19 results had demonstrated improvements in margins, pick-up in healthcare business though this was offset by decline in the automotive business. its a matter of time that the market learns to appreciate this undervalued gem. not to mention that Sunningdale offers the highest yield among the lot at ~6.3%. while analysts may be concerned about their ability to sustain dividends, it can easily be calculated from their cash flow generation. last year they paid total of 8c dividends which was ~$15m and operating cash flow for 9M19 was already ~$24m. despite paying out the interim divs, free cash flow was still healthy at ~$5m with another quarter to go. at EBITDA levels, dividends will and should be sustainable so effectively, you are paid to wait.
