dbs 17$ and sia 3.5$ will be great hehe. hope the usa debt ceiling issue will push SIA down so that can buy more haha. usa debt ceiling aside, i view sia ready to rally.  With more VTL with nations, coming gdp 3rd quarter results (21/10) and esp merck pill phase 3 trial results in early nov are favourable factors. merck pill is a huge potential gamechanger. understand the trial is on treatment and prevention efficacy . Fingers crossed.

Debt ceiling is just a political show for the politics in US and stage show by the US politicians. It will pass eventually. No US political party and politician are stupid to let US government defaults. China will be laughing. If there is a selldown, it is a golden opportunity to buy solid company shares at dirt cheap prices. Will we see DBS at $17 again? The anwser is obviously no. The market is forward looking. Debt ceiling crisis won' t stop the bull in the mid-term, only creates short term volatility which is only for traders and long term investors.

It doesn' t matter anymore. Many countries have already given up on covid. Even Australia and NZ have both surrenderred to covid. Opening borders are inevitable as humans are not animals which can be caged for life. Many humans have got crazy due to the lockdown, etc. The world can only hope that mother nature has enough punishment to mankind and stopped the virus eventually, just like the Spanish Flu which took 50 million lives and ended without any vaccines, and so forth.

i think usa debt ceiling fear, deadline 18 oct would result in panic selling next week driving stocks down across the board. best to pick up sia at 4.8 range. But T and BB have their own plans. Also, dun forget the gamechanger: merk pill. lets see.

anticipate covid will never drop to below 500 based on soon to be many reopenings. our medical resources are thin sadly more deaths happening even for vaccinated compared to months back when hardly any deaths occured even with less than 60% vaccinated, it beats me the reasons behind these more deaths albeit briefly the logic can be surmised why. due diligence must be adopted

Booking to Korea spike up when the announcement was made. Singkies rushing out. High ticket and hotel prices will not deter people from traveling. People are willing to pay top dollars now for traveling. Opening border to US is due very soon. We will see more tourists in Singapore. |

buying in SIA cannot be looking at FA . it is a foregone conclusion SIA will lose $ for years to come.  it is about ah gong support. Air sector has to recover to benefit the economy as a whole. by now its clear lockdown 2 is very unlikely and cases will continue to peak. I think sia will remain at 5$ range till more nations open up borders and covid pill show results.

Singapore has to open up its border regardless of no. of cases.  Singkies cannot survive without foreigners and tourists. SIA will soar next year once the border opens up. |

Despite the high community cases, after today annoucement on the VTL with Korea, SIA has gone up to 5.12. Not sure it will continue the uptrend next week. Let' s see..... | ||||

Why everyone expect 4.8 is the strong support? If it break, how low it will go, no more $3?
Is the air fare now double? Then who want to travel? also you need to pay for nose digging test or quarantine at hotel, so really no worth to travel now. |

Maybe the industry projects that mass market tourism not going to revive anytime soon even if the pandemic ends tomorrow? And if most intl tourists are coming out from China, most probably will be taking their own national airlines which will probably be much cheaper than SIA anyway? Rest of asia' s middle class needs to save up enough disposable income after spending much of their savings to ride out this 2 year long pandemic? If that' s the case then will probably be very difficult to find buyers for A380, scrap for parts might be the best way forward.

I wonder if they mean dismantle? Because normally old planes will resell to other airlines, such as Africa. 12 yo plane is not really old.
