Yes! Make america great again. Investing in US mkt returns so much more. Trump getting re-elected means US companies taxes will be low. Good for shareholders. So for STI, short then make money. Sg retailers keep chasing for dividends... without regard for capital appreciation. Will u want a stock to fall from $1 to $0.14 but it pay declining dividends of yield 10% or a company that appreciate $1 to $2 but yield 2%? Thats why many who invest in sti lose money. Be honest
Remember in 2016, US mkt down for a short while when trump get elected and then the rest is history. Nasdaq touch all time high.

NEW YORK (BLOOMBERG) - BlackRock upgraded Asia ex-Japan and emerging market equities to overweight one day ahead of the US election on expectations of a " blue wave" . Fund managers are continuing to price in a Democratic sweep - where Joe Biden wins the the US election and the Democrats take both houses of Congress. That result is expected to bring with it more infrastructure spending, a rally in laggard value and cyclical shares globally, as well as a more predictable approach by the US toward China. " Positive spillovers to global growth from increased fiscal stimulus, more predictable US trade and foreign policy and the prospect of a weaker (US) dollar" all bode well for emerging market assets, Blackrock' s research arm' s team of strategists and researchers led by global chief investment Strategist Mike Pyle said in the note dated Nov 2. The success by China and other Asian economies in controlling the virus outbreak better than the West and their being further ahead in restarting their economies have also prompted the upgrade on Asian ex-Japan equities, the authors of the BlackRock Investment Institute report said. It was previously neutral on Asian equities outside Japan and underweight emerging market stocks.

SINGAPORE (THE BUSINESS TIMES) - A victory by Democratic candidate Joe Biden over President Donald Trump in the US election will be seen as positive for Asia equities, said DBS Group Research on Tuesday (Nov 3). In a monthly strategy report, the research team noted that Mr Biden is likely to end the United States' trade war with the EU, and adopt a more open and negotiable approach with China with tariffs being reconsidered or removed. This would be positive for Asia and especially Singapore, given the city-state's small and open economy, wrote analysts Yeo Kee Yan, Chung Wei Le and Janice Chua on Tuesday. Companies that have production facilities in China and sales exposure to the US are some of those poised to benefit from a Biden victory, the DBS analysts said, citing Valuetronics and Hi-P as Singapore-listed companies with some 30-50 per cent revenue exposure to the US.
