That' s excluding FX. Its a big fall for, a quarter and this came despite higher quarterly revenue of US$736.1m (+2.6%). Earning per share is 0.07 cts for 2017, way behind the 11 cts recorded in 2016 and slightly higher than 0.06cts for 2015. Looking ahead, strong headwinds prevails for Jafpa. Its animal feeds division recorded negative profit and Vietnam swine prices continued to be weak. In the words of the management, financial performance for 2017 was subpar. For comparison, the highest price traded for 2015 with EPS of 0.06, is 0.54 cts

As I said before, everytime when an analyst lowers target price but STILL maintain buy call, becareful. They are not done selling yet and are just buying time. Need to let the chart to run its full course. Currently, the trend is still down.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	while I agree that this is a good stock and was previously a shareholder, it is also important to catch the timing of entry/exit for the counter. as it is quite widely held by institutional funds, the movements can be quite volatile as and when the sentiment changes. the present climate certainly don' t look too favourably for the Group but if you can weather the volatility, then it might be a good time to start accumulating. am personally staying on the side till the selling stabilises before accumulating for the mid-long term. while it is not easy to value the Group given its various business segments, it also spells greater efforts to monitor the various moving parts. macro headwinds historically hurt Japfa quite badly and the landscape remains very competitive. the turnaround in 2015/16 kicked in because of government' s efforts to cull day-old chicks. good luck guys and remember always, dyodd.
