Yes you are correct. March 2025 Chairman bought 1.50 million shares ataround $1.05 per share Feb 2025 CEO bought 110k shares at 92.5c. They bought the shares cheap in 2025. But HLA last traded price is $2.86. Is it still cheap? Although I sold 50% of my shares in the last few weeks but I am still keeping the other half for the mid term and waiting for MGP listing in the HKSE. If HLA falls to an attractive price I may consider supporting it again with my capital and profit. I have been a long time supporter of HLA.

I think you have missed out some examples that the CEO and Chairman buys the share from the market because of the family feud.

Taking profit is a natural process for most investors and traders. There is no good news now to stir the share price to higher level. Perhaps we have to wait for MGP listing in the HKSE later this year. To me there is no bargin hunting now unless it falls back to $2.40 level. I have still vested in HLA but has reduced my holdings by half at less than 80c per share. There are many attractive stocks with good valuation and growth to attract investors/traders in SGX. |

Will stick by my guns, no selling below $4. It is ok to wait, dividends are increasing, probably can get 6-8c this year. |

You are correct. Many years ago I attended HLA AGM and the chairman mentioned that they do not like the idea of share back and supporting the share price. They would leave it to the open market to decide the share price. They rather focus on running the business well and naturally the share price will also rise when profit rises. My present opinion is HLA after a good run in 2025 and early 2026, it has already reached its fair value. At $3.00 and above it is subject to profit taking from investors and traders including myself. In effect my average buy price was less than 80c and I have been taking profit in the past few weeks. Traders and investors should be careful from now on.

I heard long ago that the Hong Leong Group do not respond to the price gyrations of their companies. Therefore, they do not do share buybacks. They are only interested in running their companies well. Not sure if this is true, please dyodd. |

Ironically DBS increased TP of HLA to 5.40. Shortists and manipulators in action which HLA is very prone to due to its low float. My HLA shares got loaned out yesterday to shortists.

They just paid $90 mil to buy up Yong Tai Loong in April and this Edge report said that it has " positive contribution from Yong Tai Loong."   So fast to contribute? https://www.theedgesingapore.com/capital/results/hong-leong-asias-1hfy2026-earnings-641-919-mil-declares-dividend-3-cents-share   |

Their capital expenditure increased by more than $200 million,   mainly in long term investment,   property,   plant and equipment.   Are they not doing some business expansion?

Hong Leong Asia Ltd (HLA SP)
14 August 2026 Troy Cheng Equity Research Recommendation: BUY Fair Value: SGD 4.30 Same recipe, better margins 1H26 earnings per share (EPS) was 28.5% higher year-on-year (YoY) at 15.08 Singapore cents, ahead of our expectations Market share gains and strong export demand underpinned volume growth at the Powertrain Solutions segment, while performance at the Building Materials segment started recovering in 2H25 Raised fair value (FV) estimate to SGD4.30 from SGD4.20 Investment Thesis (HLA SP) Hong Leong Asia (HLA) is an industrial conglomerate operating two main business segments: (i) Powertrain Solutions, which designs, manufactures, and sells both on- and off-road diesel engines through its 48.7%-owned subsidiary China Yuchai International Ltd (CYI) and (ii) Building Materials, which sells industrial materials such as cement, ready-mix concrete (RMC), and pre-cast concrete products to the regional construction industry. The outlook for HLA is constructive, in our view: the Powertrain Solutions division is expected to power ahead, fuelled by burgeoning demand for gensets (including data centre (DC) generator engines) and new energy powertrains meanwhile, the Building Materials division will likely benefit from the ongoing construction market upcycle in Singapore and continued infrastructure investments in Malaysia. We also see potential for HLA to further enhance shareholder returns, either by acquiring synergistic, accretive businesses, or by increasing dividend payouts, backed by a healthy balance sheet and net cash position. |

HLA has produced a decent set of result on H1 26. The net income and EBITDA increased by 65%.   Take note that the free cash flow reduced by 38% from $373m to $230 m,   this is because the company could have purchased properties and other capexp worthed $130 m.

AEM and IFast always give pathetic dividend yet the share price moves up so fierce. Share price is always determined by people with deeper pocket not the company' s dividend. | ||||
