This is a coy worth dipping into if the main shareholders can prove they are upright. I' m not againsto our neighbours. But from recent happenings, I get a bit uneasy with some sgx-listed coys led and/or owned by Malaysians/ex-Malaysians. |

I believe US$806m. After the acquisition, they are one of the largest in the world. Given that they need license to operate, the company value is certainly there. The risk is there is no clear resolution of how the investigation will play out. High risk, high return. not the kind of stock you want to go all go. Negative FCF, negative operating CF. AT current price level, china fish can easily shoot up 50 - 100 %. Those chasing 0.25+ plus but selling below 0.05, are really not made to survive in the market. |

Based on the fundamentals of the business alone, this fish is without a doubt way, way undervalued. A few yrs ago, even without the prized Copeinca, the mkt cap had exceeded S$1bil. Now, bolstered by probably the world' s largest anchovy, fishmeal n fish oil business going forward, the mkt cap has shrunk to just 200 mil. But it serves them right to be in this position if it' s proved that they had indeed been hanky-pankying around with the coy' s shares. Spare a thought or two for minority shareholders though. Their losses are probably irrecoverable. The mkt here is absolutely treacherous, shielded by a probably disproportionate false sense of security, especially given the religious preaching of corporate governance n transparency, but disregarding the reality of manipulation n deceit. A lot of the investing public in this country are well educated n well informed, n many wld definitely have done their due diligence before taking the plunge. The truth though is,it' s nigh impossible to tell a wolf in sheep skin. This fish seems to be endowed with such great prospect going forward n management seem decent, upright n determined to play by the rules (see contents of Business Times inverview dated 10 June 15). But when u open the cupboard so many skeletons start falling out!!!!! So what if wrong-doing is proved? The people involved just pay the pittance of a penalty. That&rsquo s it, nothing to worry about. This fish will continue to bless them with an abundance of wealth. But hang on. What abt the pain n sufferings minorities are enduring because of ur dirty tricks? Who cares. Caveat emptor, please!!!! Is it fair n just? Well, some are born to be more equal than others, my friend.

At the current price it is trading, every asset is worth 11cents for every dollar on the book. . http://stockflock.co/company/b0z That includes the assets bought from Copeinca and the license they hold. While it is certainly possible that it goes into potential suspension, there could be some merits to the company being significantly undervalued. Might consider looking into it closer. |

This counter is fishy..... I just dumped all my holdings and took a huge loss. If you can recall the Ng family wanted the Copeinca bondholders to guarantee the debt of China Fishery group as a whole. Why would you want to guarantee the debt of China Fishery as whole? it is now clear that there is indeed a hole with the investigation. On hindsight, this investment was a mistake looking at macro levels of Peru and El Nino fishing turnaround when at micro company level, this counter is crap. Poor Copeinca is dragged into the suffering fate of China Fishery and Pacific Andes........... 1 or 2 cent parent counter in HK..... Avoid this counter before potential suspension..... |

Looking back on this saga, the main victims are Singaporen or Singapore investors. These 2 counters long ago started sucking monies from retail investors by very regular rights issues... after which saw their prices plunged from 2 dollars to 20c for cfg & from 80c to 5c for pard.. thks to the local supporters for these hongkee stocks. . and finally all killed by the 2 .. | ||||
