This is in light of the uniquely challenging conditions faced by the M& OE sector, which is experiencing a significantly more severe slowdown than other sectors.  To help companies finance their operations and bridge short-term cash flow gaps, the BL, which will be available from December 2016, will be rolled out to improve access to working capital for Singapore-based M& OE companies (including SMEs and non-SMEs). Companies will be able to borrow up to S$5 million each, up to S$15 million per borrower group, with a loan tenure of up to six years. Besides the BL, M& OE companies can now access up to S$70 million in credit facilities under the enhanced Internationalisation Finance Scheme (IFS) administered by IE Singapore. IFS, which provides project/asset financing support for companies, has been enhanced to raise the maximum loan quantum per borrower group to S$70 million up from the current S$30 million for companies to support their overseas expansion.
