I' ve always figured that this one will go back to at least SGD1 ..... but not so soon. Perhaps late 2019, after TuasOne (think currently still on record as biggest WTE in spore) is commissioned. Also, depend on recovery of oil n gas which shd result in better elect px in spore.

Foreign buyers are eyeing a piece of the Tuaspring power and desalination plant, in a transaction that could take Singapore' s largest desalination plant out of local hands. Tuaspring is owned by Hyflux, which last week appointed DBS Bank and China International Capital Corp as financial advisers to evaluate a partial divestment of up to 70 per cent Tuaspring, Asia' s first integrated water and power plant which cost more than $1 billion to build, has attracted buying interest for years under a Water Purchase Agreement signed with the PUB, the facility is to supply the national water agency with 70 million gallons of desalinated water a day over a 25-year period from 2013 to 2038. |

Brother, the current situation is not a water treatment issue. It' s the massive over capacity in the electricity generation in this country. It' s good for consumers. But for gencos, they are all crying, including SembCorp Ind. Seems that all seven electricity gencos have taken up with the authorities to see how best to resolve it. If there' s an improvement in electricity px, it' s gonna help them, but is likely to burn a bigger hole in our pockets. I' d also like to mention that for waste to energy plants, it' s under NEA' s purview. Electricity is generated through the process of waste incineration. So, for coys like Hyflux (which has a WTE, namely TuasOne, coming on stream next yr, any improvement in electricity px is likely to be a bigger plus for them as their electricity is not generated through LNG.
