I was told that back in the old days the broking houses will buy from the Cash mkt to cover the ready mkt short positions. btw if any oversold position to be ' buy-in' it is no longer the last price before halt/suspended, it has to be whatever the relisted pricing (not too clear how this works). I try to convince those who have to sell first . This suspension is going to be real long or might be even permanent once CAD is involved . Worst still , private investigations now reveal BWL still conducting MLM on their products . If China authorities investigate, the problem might be even more serious . I can only pray for the best for these people .

This senario is almost the same as the penny stock crash saga when a penny stock rallied over thousand percent over a short period of time.  This is already a tell-tale sign. Such company is meant for speculation and not investment. Some people made a killing through speculatiing such company while the gullible investors got burnt. Many Singapore retail investors are not aware of the high risks investing in China stocks.

Actually, in the same vein, contra trading should be prohibited too. However, shorting selling using borrowed shares should be permitted, and I think even encouraged.
