Otherwise TH will not hold 30% of the shares in SMM and there will not be a rights issue with capital injection.  However, will she look after SMM at all costs, even if (and I say if) in the unlikely event SMM somehow goes under? I do not think we can assume that. Why? As a matter of principle, there may be other deserving companies, and with limited (not infinite) TH capital, why shouldn' t she help other more deserving companies than SMM?    Maybe Tiger Lady will not wait for SMM to fail but to take it private or merge with whatever, well, we will see. But the thought of her " looking after us" is certainly comforting. Again, she may not be forever there in TH. It is a purely a commercial entity whose only interest is Singapore. By looking after its own interest, it is looking after Singapore' s interest.
