Sembcorp unit signs 10-year power purchase agreement with Singtel worth around S$180 million annually
SEMBCORP Industries said on Thursday (May 25) that its wholly-owned subsidiary Sembcorp Power has signed a 10-year power purchase agreement to supply electricity to Singtel, with an annual contract value of around S$180 million.
Sembcorp said in a bourse filing that the power purchase agreement will commence on Oct 1 this year, and is subject to approval by Singtel&rsquo s shareholders at the upcoming annual general meeting.
Sembcorp added that the contract will be accretive to earnings for its financial year ending December 2023.

It was up yesterday as well before the Singtel contract news being available to the market. If insiders know of more good news then they would hold or buy.

Sembcorp to develop multi-utilities centre on Jurong Island for S$900 million
SEMBCORP Industries on Thursday (May 18) said it will be developing a new multi-utilities centre on Jurong Island which will supply power, steam, firewater and demineralised water to customers.
The total cost of development of the multi-utilities centre will be an estimated S$900 million, and is expected to be financed through a mix of internal cash resources and external bank borrowings, the company said.
Construction of the centre is expected to commence in the second half of this year, and be fully operational by 2026.
The facility will include a new 600-megawatt (MW) hydrogen-ready power plant. Sembcorp Cogen, a wholly-owned unit of Sembcorp, has awarded a turnkey contract for the development of the power plant to a consortium comprising Mitsubishi Power Asia-Pacific and Jurong Engineering.
Mitsubishi Power has also been awarded a long-term service agreement for the maintenance of the power plant.
The project is not expected to have any material impact on the earnings per share and net tangible assets per share of Sembcorp for the financial year ending Dec 31.
