Cant agree w you more ....KEP has tons of experience in sourcing cheap asset and enhancing it w a good profit.  Last sale in Korea net $64M if not wrong ......another 2 are coming up.  ALSO not forgeting the landbank within Kepland ....CEO has opening remark that it is a waste NOT to capitalise on this ...haha Happy investing . Awaiting patiently for 27th Update.  Dyodd

Possible. They did that to the 3 buildings sold to them by SamSung in 2019.  They msde them alive by bringing anchor tenants,  then sold them in 2021 for a handsome profit.  Much to impress this Korean Economic new agency https://www.kedglobal.com/alternative-investments/newsView/ked202101150008 |

Just to add for information.    If the acquisition price is S$480 million and the building has a gross floor area of 15,000 sqm according to Edge,  then we can work out that the unit price is around S$30.000 per sqm.  Sounds very expensie.  It is about 2X our unit price in Singapore CBD area which is around S$12,000 to S$15,000 per Sqm.  However,  this Korea Economic news reported that the cost of office building hit record high in 2021.    The highest was KRW 400 millioin per pyeong, or 3.3 square meters.  This works out to S$120,000 per sqm which is 4X the Keppel' s acquisition price.  So we cannot use Sg' s yard stick to judge.this acquisition https://www.kedglobal.com/real-estate/newsView/ked202105180006

Earnings Season is Around the Corner: 4 Singapore Stocks That Could Increase Their Dividends. (Genting Singapore,  StarHub Ltd,Civmec Ltd & Keppel Corporation Limited (SGX: BN4)Keppel Corporation is a global asset manager and operator in the areas of infrastructure, real estate and connectivity. The group operates in more than 20 countries providing services for clean energy, sustainable urban renewal, and digital connectivity. Keppel, like Genting Singapore, also reported a strong 1Q 2023 with both revenue and net profit rising year-on-year. In addition, the group also achieved asset monetisation of S$4.9 billion announced to date, putting it on track to achieve its S$5 billion monetisation target. If Keppel can keep up the momentum, there is a decent chance it can pay out an interim dividend that is higher than the S$0.15 that was paid in the prior year. The group is hard at work on business initiatives to create more value for shareholders. In late May, Keppel partnered with  United Overseas Bank  (SGX: U11) to jointly develop and provide businesses with a comprehensive suite of sustainability and digitalisation solutions. Not all companies would have the same simple, straight and comprehensive Corporate strategies that everyone can understand when they invest, Today,  whether a company can make money or not depends very much on their strategies.  Diversification and calculated risk taking would usually give a company better edge in competition but it might not fit the appetite of some or many.  For us as small and kujinkura investors,  it is always good to be cautious. DOODD before we invest. We make some and we lose some.   Happy trading.

Possible reason for point number 3... keppel has its owned projects too, current high interests environmental... cash is king. Selling seatrium shares allow KC to have more cash to support its own business reducing borrowing with high interests

Just sharing some thought and questionair 1) anyone have it' s property investment profile in China? one major discusion is, another round of possibly defualt might happen to few of the survivor from last few one. 2) Investment in Korea is seems dangerous as North and South tension keeps growing plus downturn of Samsung might hurt overall economy, employment etc, cannot remember but heard gdp could be few percent diff. 3) Question had been flowing around on the relistic target of green 2030 worldwide, given the current economy strenght, it seems to be nice to have now due to climate but costly to execute plus resistant from most country who control energy. Russia / Suadi Arab / Middle East, those who depends a lot on oil to sustain the country, need the different source of income to stabalised first before taking another step.I say what " " if" " , all this country cut export of Oil to bargain? One thing to note, China seems to be grabing or booking all cheap oil from the market which they don' t need at current economy, reason unknown. 4) Since KOM and SMM merge till now, I still cannot answer these question. Seatrium manage by the same team in KOM bag super big order right after the merger, cliam to be super good prospec / earning in future, Keppel don' t know this deal before merger? They report to them and such a big contract normally takes months. If so good why sell Seatriun shares, should not even plan to sell shares initially just hold till near 2030 for div or when Seatrium is 30, 50 cents or even 1 dollars as some cliam.  althought both seatrium and keppel px are moving up / down side by side most of the time, some bad decision made somewhere? Unknown. Nevertheless, since most ppl hear says KOM management very good and will bring Seatrium to the sky, then why hold given Keppel max from investors here say will hit 10 dollars from current 6++ and Seatrium will hit 1 dollars from 0.14+. sharing to newbies,  tcss only, not vested in both after seatriun form and pls don' t hoot me, thank |

Dun think the acquisition of the expensive office building will have any material impact.    Korea' s good office vacancy rate at the moment is low and property is stablised.  Even at very bad time during the Pandemic,  Keppel was able to make good money from property transactions as long as the properties are good office and in good locatioin.  The acquired building was formerly Bank of Korea' s  Headquarter right in the CBD area.  Moreover,  the few hundred million asset is not even 1% of their existing asset portfolio. https://skyjuiceiswater3.blogspot.com/2023/07/singapore-stock-keppel-corporation.html |
