Omg. You better sell this away soon. If you are truly vested, a quick scan of APTT news in sgx portal can give you an idea of her business and what the borrowings was meant for. Anyway, what you are quoting now is old 'rumour' and fear tactics used by fear mongers months ago to push the price.

![]() The intangible asset is 86% of total asset, so borrowing is mainly to pay this intangilble asset. Guess the ROA is very low?

I have 2 concerns with APTT:
- Looking at their report, there is intangible asset @ $2.2 billions - costs incurred in acquiring cable TV licences are brought to account as intangible assets. The assets are assessed as having indefinite useful lives and therefore there is no amortisation charge booked against the carrying value. - Challenging business going forward for PayTV - look at the trend of wirecutting trend in US also in SG, just a matter of time, it will catch up in Taiwan Any comments? Note: I am vested in this stock

We shouldnt worry about those who are ill-informed about Taiwan investment especially Aptt.   They in fact will help to propel the stock higher by shorting and getting caught naked. The tide has turned against the shortists, unlike last year and beginning of this year.   Ultimately, the price will migrate to the mean.

not so fast lah, share prices don' t go up in a straight line.  there will be pauses and pullbacks to shake off weak holders and contras but i' m fine with that.

Watch their business progress and developments. If next few quarters show stable operating businesses or even positive developments, then probably ' shiok liao' for those who have invested two to four months back. But, even if businesses show challenges, then must ask questions on what kind of challenges they face and whether it is only a small temporal hiccup or a permanent deteroriation in business fundamentals. Even if it is permanent deteroriation in business fundamentals, those with good paper gains having around 30% to 50% margin of safety can still run road with small capital gain profits and partial distributions already collected for the first quarter. But, I think the last scenario of a permanent deteroriation in business fundamentals is unlikely (though not impossible) considering management' s distribution guidance of 6.5 cents this year which lends some confidence based on their assessment of own business capability to pay that amount of distribution. So no matter what, it is a potentially high reward with no or little risk investment proposition (at least for the short term of this year). That is the wonder of a margin of safety (like putting on a car seat belt) which buffers an investor against shocks in the constantly changing fundamentals of a business in case of any unforeseen accidents along the way. As long as one has adequately ensure his capital is protected is most important in any investment, rule number one in investing. Any potential upside is still secondary.  |

Don't have to argue anything or talk down the stock.
I still believe that there is still alot of potential for it to hit above $0.7 soon... The stock is defensive and is revenue generating. High dividend stock with good capital gain! Great! |

Continue to watch APTT's next few quarters business performance with the addition of incoming veteran Mr Lu's industry experience. Once all their upgrading capex is done with next year, their cashflows may see further improvement. And watch for any new business plans and developments under new owner Mr Lu. If next few quarters show positive progress in business performance, plans and developments, the unit price may stabilise or continue to rise higher on a distribution yield of more than 10% currently. Those with current paper gains have a margin of safety to buffer against any adverse developments in APTT's business. Downside is protected with margin of safety while still has potential upside. APTT is not a growth company so do not expect phenomenal growth but as long got progress in its businesses, distributions should increase through the years and with that a steady gradual growth in unit price. Just hope no negative surprises for this and next year. | ||||

This new CEO was the CFO since APTT's inception. Not exactly very new. Should know toilet location well.
The new owner is so established in Taiwan (Apple's supplier), bank gave lower loan interest rate just like that. Hon Hai net profit in 2016 was a record high of usd5 billion. http://m.focustaiwan.tw/news/aeco/201704010004.aspx

You are right. This is not categorized as a growth stock. It's defensive by nature.

Turnaround or U-Turn situation, must see if this new management know what to do. My Guess is that they probably just figured out how to find their way to the toilet in their new office.. again, good luck to those who put their trust in this new untested management.  |

Funny how this counter is being punted up with such euphoria.  They dont realised that TW is a tough regulatory environment to do business.  Why do you think they ban PRC investors from buying this counter? those who only focus on dividend, but not on the huge roof placed on its growth potential, will soon see major correction once it hits that roof.    |

Then this is good news if big boys are coming in. Anyway, even if price remains at current level for the rest of this year, for those who collected two to four months back, one would already have made between 34% to 55% unless one is averaging down from pervious years higher holding price. If one is already making paper profits, this will be the margin of safety for the rest of this year on a distribution yield of more than 10%. A 34% margin of safety is quite good protecting the downside while ensuring potential upside on possible continued price increase with more than 10% distribution yield if business economics of APTT should improve further for rest of the year. This is analogous to a coin toss bet that 'head I win big, tail I lose small or never lose at all bet.' Downside protected with good margin of safety while having potential upside.
