Yes we all don't sell and kill the hedge fund that has been shorting Riverstone ok? It is true they make by 1 to 2 cents. By the look of market Q, they are waiting to buy back at 1.30 and below. We will not let this hedge fund cover shorts!

To get breakeven with 1 cent movement, only need to buy 2,400 shares which costs around $3.2k If buy 6,400 shares at $1.32, cost will be close to $8.5k When it moves to $1.33, can earn $36.10 Question should be how much can we earn with 1 cent movement, instead of whether we can breakeven or not The more we buy, the more we earn and vice versa The amount of shares to buy to get breakeven with 1 cent also depends on which broker you are using, due to the different rates

Usually these BB have some wisdom, when there is a reversal, they move as well... Whether you like them or not, you can' t deny the fact that they are the ones moving the market, so be thankful when it goes into your favour..

You are talking about big traders who buy and sell millions.
They can be working for the BB to manage their huge holdings.
I am not referring to traders..I am referring to BB who takes a position.
Yes we can also have fund managers, hedge funds who take big short positions.
I don't like these people as I feel they are not ethical

This is not true. I doubt you know how professional these BB are.  Even if the stock moves up by 1 cent they can make money. Can you even breakeven with 1 cent?

There is a misconception the BB moves the market and make money. And retail investors are foolish and always lose money. Situation has changed since the start of Pandemic.  Glove counters are the examples. Just see how Top gloves are purchase and sold by big investors and lost money. UOB decided to concentrate on Top Glove and sold its RS shares. They lost and now trying very best to hold on to Top glove, calling a hold. UOB did not give up on RS and used CFD to buy. CFD is highly geared and high risk of severe margin calls. I am not a small investor and I am certainly not a BB. I don' t have millions to move the market. I am just a retail player with not so small funds and able to stand the repeated margin calls by repeatedly topping up cash and picking up shares

Why is the huge volume at 1.24 and 1.50 ?
The dividends is 0.06 +
Dividends in CFD trading came from price adjustment.
1.24 + 0.06 = 1.30
Therefore current support is 1.30 and CFD short sellers are buying back from 1.30
CEO Mr Wong purchases of shares from open market has an average price of 1.47.
Hence CFD short selling from 1.48.
Now hoping that new dividends issue will create a higher support.
RS rebound should shart from 1.30

The relationship of margin account and outstanding short positions I have a completely opposite situation regarding the above, which showed that Riverstone is excessively oversold. CFD is not trading on shares but only contracts with your brokers. Brokers provide shares to back the underlying long / short positions of CFD. The total number of tradable shares is finite. You cannot get new shares unless you borrow from someone. The margin account holders provide the shares for lending. Or when you pledge your shares to your brokers to margin, your broker has the right to use your shares and they can lend to their traders at special rates better than borrowing from CDP If there are many people who margin Riverstone shares, the number of shares available to traders increases. There is a cap in order not to overlend the shares. So your shares are lent to someone else, who in turn margin the shares and in turn the shares are lent to another people. So the same number of shares can be lent to many parties.  In this case Riverstone is oversold. Judging from the volume of trading over the past weeks, there were only twice when huge volume were traded. Once was at $1.24 and another was at $1.50 In betwen the volume traded were not huge. But the number of outstanding shorts decreased and increased. The number of outstanding shorts indicate how much oversold. At the moment, we are balancing between overbought by some investors and oversold by the brokers. Hence we are at break out point. This breakout is overdue. The short sellers are hoping for a breakdown while the investors are hoping for a breakout. The sudden increase of Top glove OTC is a good sign that some brokers decided to cover their short positions. I hope this breakout is happening very soon.  Don' t sell your shares and don' t buy as well ( unless you can pick up the shares). Just hold and wait.

Dear Phillip Tan, Sutiono and others: CFD trading, Margin Trading and Cash ( aka contra ) trading I would like to present my insight of the interplay of the above with regard to the glove counters CFD margin rates varies. It varies with different counters and also the margin ratio varies on different tiers.  Example in IG CFD platform the different ratios are 1) Riverstone Holdings 25% up to 17,300 shares 40% for 17301 to 51,900 shares 60% for 51901 to 95150 shares 75% for 95151 shares and above 2) Top Glove 25% up to 147,000 shares 40% for 147101 to 441,000 shares 60% for 441001 to 514500 shares 75% for 514501 and above It means that the more shares you have the more cash you need as for 75% means you can only loan 25% of the share price The big holders in CFD are disdvantage when the market falls. If you want to hold big positions, don' t use CFD, use margin account.  However margin account has a maximun cap to the valuation of the stock. Example if your boker place a cap of $700,000 for your Riverstone valuation, your valuation will not increase if the stock price increase. At price of $1.33, $700,000 translate to 526,300 shares. Is Riverstone overbought or oversold? - It depends on your leverage. If you leverage to the maximun, you have overbought.  I believe the recent selling is due to the overbought position of some BB. Therefore he needs to sell. The amount to sell is huge and at short notice, you cannot find buyers to pick up the shares. However in order not to be force sold, the BB sold to its cash position ( aka contra ). He hopes someone will buy over in the next 3 days. If a few people are doing this, they actually drive the share price down. There will come a point when some people will buy when the price is cheap enough. Then we will have a support. Do you know you Roverstone fell to 1.06, I actually spent half a million to pick up the shares to prevent force selling? So we have to co-operate and stop the madness of force selling please!

Hello Sis, This stock is already weaker than I would like to see, I read here its also due to force selling of  CFD account, if really so then not as bad, I personally would prefer to see a rebound starting next week, but market can go into oversold condition longer if whats going on in Malaysia does affect the stock further.  Technically I wouldnt want to see it break 1.29 being the nearest low.
