I too look for stocks in the market which has a High and Low Tide.  These stocks...when they reach their High Tide, they become unattractive to LONG anymore. The better way to play is then to SHORT & HOLD.  Then when they start ebbing and move towards their Low Tide... when they have bottomed out, they become very attractive to LONG. I have  another name for such stocks. At my forum, I call them Sure Come Stocks. Why " Sure Come" ? Becoz when they have reached their High Tide,  they will SURE COME back down towards their Low Tide. Then when reach Low Tide, they again SURE COME back up towards their High Tide.  One LOW and HIGH Tide cycle differs from stock to stock. These kind of stocks, at Low Tide you LONG or at High Tide you SHORT, can generate  the 8% to 10% yield you spoke of. But General, there is a problem about this kind of trading strategy. Becoz each High & Low Tide Cycle can take months, in-between, got nothing to  do...will feel bored and Sibeh Sian leh.    So to deal with this, I employ a combination of strategies. Firstly, I do set aside a reserve army to catch the High & Low Tide Cycle. This fellow' s Tidal Cycle tends to coincide with Quarter End window dressing as well as Reporting Season and  Dividend Payout time which is twice annually in Apr and Aug. The Apr Dividend Play tends to have more meat becoz she pays around 10 cts  for that round. But her stock price can run 30 cts to 40 cts from end-February to end-April for both Results Play cum Dividend Play. For this years' s Mar/Apr  Results Play cum Dividend Run, she ran from $2.68 to $3.47. Very, very meaty and a handsome reward for those who put in the effort to study and  get to know this Sure Come Stock. At my forum, I call her Gaia. Why Gaia? Her initials are STE... Save The Earth. Save Gaia. And Gaia will reward you. Secondly, I use some of my troops to " have fun" by doing chicken runs...macam like short and sharp covert operation to do commando raids on Mr Market' s pantry to see if can Choo-li some eggs from him. This keeps me and my boys on our toes and we stay alert and vigilant on what' s happening in the market. So General, you hope to see 3.00. I hope so too. But we are running out of time. July is reporting season and Dividend Payout is in August... around 5 cts. You know. But those who are listening to us dunno. So I say it for their benefit. You...I no need to say. You have fought this battle many times and know how to toppo your way around and wont Puak Toh one. Since both of us are waiting for the Low Tide, then may the force be with us. Why force? When we miss a trade or a chance to take profits, no point crying over spilt milk. Instead, move on. And find another cow to milk. My only consolation is that this fellow has a chance of rising due to quarter end window dressing. If no have, next catalyst is Results Play in July followed by Dividend Play in August where 5 cts dividend is expected. If she can drop to 2.60, she will become an excellent stock for BUY & HOLD. At 2.60, her dividend yield is 5.769%. Much higher that CPF Board' s 2.5% for ordinary a/c and 4% for special and medisave a/c. Plus at 2.60, her capital appreciation upside is more than 15% easily over a 6-mth period.

Now -80 pts. She erased 90 pts of losses. Anyway, just a reminder for you Folks... When market is bull and prices rise, Friday is Profit Taking Day. Prices tend tol retrace.  When market is bear and prices fall, Friday is Shortcovering Day. Prices tend to rebound.

x 0   x 1  Alert Admin	Sentiments are weak and it sure looks bearish.  But yet, she hasn' t showed us 3.05 yet. As market has been bearish for so many days,  she really should be showing us 3.00 by now. But dont have leh. Even 3.05 also dont have, let alone 3.00. This fellow offers a decent dividend yield of 4.838% at current price of 3.10. On top of that, her upside capital appreciation within 3 months is easily 20 cts. That' s 6.45%. If she dips towards 3.05 or lower, more and more buyers will be eyeing her for BUY & HOLD. Simply becoz for this fellow, the lower she falls to, the higher her dividend yield and capital appreciation upside which makes her lagi more attractive to fund managers and deep pocketed investors.
