 Alert Admin 		The best money is free money and tax free.   Seriously, SG favors the wealthy but govt doesn' t want to admit.   Not many countries have zero dividend tax, zero capital gain tax, zero inheritance/estate tax.   $1m in capital generates higher returns than national median salary.

Either one happened will results in appreciation of Jap Yen, and all those that borrowed Yen for speculation will dump stocks to buy back Yen or invest in Japanese assets. From historical records, market always goes into turmoil when Fed cut rate or Jap Central Bank up rate, imagine now if both sides acted together and wow . formation of perfect storm... I definitely think Japan will want to come back to healthy level of 1USD : 120 JPY or around there, we are still far from there and I hope this can happen very very gradually

Hi emailpeter, frankly speaking, I did not give much though on the world outlook going into the last qtr of 2024.
Rate cuts benefit the economy in general. Marginally or substantially, will depend on how many cuts, how many points and how soon?
Adverse factor, like big war in Middle East, must not happen too.
Hence, it is a little too early to tell. As for our local market, it is good for reits, not so good for the banks.
However, reits with much China/HK exposure (eg. CLCT, MPACT, etc) may not gain as much as others.
All because of the difficulty China is going through at the moment.
Low occupancy in the case of CLCT. 
HK poor recovery from Covid, couple with less travellers from mainland, dampened MPACT.
In addition, I expect USD to weaken, RMB to strengthen as a result.
Stronger RMB will helps CLCT somewhat.
It is not a sure bet this 2 currencies will perform as what I predicted.
DBS and YZJ will still perform at least for this last qtr.
Going into 2025, more challenging for both but I still think they can produce.
