my point exactly. yesterday' s financials doesn' t speak much good news to investors as was pointed out by a few forumers here. another point which you mentioned was temasek holdings holding 40%, this could only contribute towards price stability not price growth. there' s always a reason why small players deal with crisis better than big players, it' s because of leaner operation One last pointer which you also pointed out, companies with healthy net cash. These are companies who can exercise options to increase market cap or diversify when things are not looking good. The last thing you want is to have a golden opportunity presented but unable to take it. anyway, oil prices is as likely to go back to 50s as it is likely to hit 70s. since it' s known that FR is selling, why hurry in? It' s not as if this counter is going to rocket while a SSH is taking a huge dump. might be good to play within the range if you have the risk appetite. but that' s a different style of trade.

Kris is upstream O and G and will be a direct beneficiary of the increase in crude oil prices . Kris is backed by Temasek Holdings who holds a 40% take in kris energy . Recently just won a 90% stake in Cambodia oilfield and is selling some of its stake and is in talks with energy giants Totaloil , statoil etc . Hence as Long as oil stay above $60, kris will be forward looking . Of course there is also Smaller players like Rex whose financials are in better shape and Interra or services players such as Mermaid marinetime which is a net cash company of $106 million .

KRIS released an expected set of results.  Which is similar to the previous quarter. Observations from the results: - rising oil price may help it on its final quarter - decline in Wassana production is slowing down - there is a slight decline in production from all their other oil fields except  -  Nong Yao which increased by 21% but their vested in terest in Nong Yao is only 22.5% so the impact in quite small. I think the results is not inspiring so looking forwards, what are the future catalysts? - For one, brent keeping its head above US$65 will really help. -  The next sizeable increase in production will have to come from those 6 new wells in Wassana that KRIS is going to drill soon.  However, I expect they will only contribute sensibly by FY18 Q2. - Indo Aceh block should come in by  FY18  Q3 and - Cambodia by FY19 Q2. It will be a long wait to see KRIS revenue jump in steps. The lifting cost is negatively impacted by those problematic Wassana wells.  It used to be about US$10 pboe but has risen to US$23.  That' s a whooping additional US$13 pboe! Next quarter should see KRIS selling at at least +15% in price.  That US$13 addtional lifting cost is about 27% of the current selling price.  Even knocking it down by half can contribute equivalent to an additional +14% in price. It will be another three months before we see the next et of results.  In the meantime, watch out for their Wassana development. Oil coming into the US$65-US$70 range should give its price a nice boost albeit temporary.  Oil price staying in  the US$65-US$70 range should give it the stable price rise it needs. My two cents! |

Rights unlikely because of FR as it has 28% of shares to sell and probably won' t subscribe to the rights. Low share price is also another factor, though less important. Finally, I don' t think Kris really need to raise more money, at least not within the next 18 months.

There is only increase in price in Sept and Oct, how will it be realised in Q3. Further more their prices are hedged if you look at the avg price they sell is 47.8USD....Now more critical to me is that the additional infill wells to be drilled at Wassana is more of a concern, if they can still produce production at peak 12000bbl/day.. which will highly generate more cashflow for the company itself. The CEO Mr Tang is right not to explore further and concentrate more on production. The angmohs are the clowns and cause Kris to be in this state, they shouldn' t be too ambitious and go into costly exploration in Udan Emas, Vietnam and etc, should have just stick to Thailand mature fields instead. Cambodia is definintely a right choice as the field is near to the thai field that Kris owns, they are expected to have the same characteristics as the ones in Wassana and etc.. Critical is to push pack RCF due in June 18, hedge higher oil prices and lastly sell out some assets.

3Q17 net loss narrowed to US$25.6m (3Q16: US$31.6m loss). Revenue slipped 12% to US$39m on reduced sale of crude oil (-11%) and gas (-23%) due to lower production from the Wassana oil field in the Gulf of Thailand, but partly pared by higher ASPs. However, EBITDAX jumped 66% to US$7m, thanks to a 20% drop in adjusted operating cost. Notably, operating cash flow improved to US$12m (3Q16: US$4m).  Trades at 0.45x P/B. |

Results quite disappointing for me. Despite +34% increase in realized oil prices, 15% production fall resulted in EBITDAX of only $6.9m this quarter. Although it is better than 2Q 4m EBITDAX, I was hoping for the $10+m like in 1Q. The only very positive observation is that cash flow from operation swinged to a huge positive of 16m from huge negative last quarter. Cash balance of 58m is higher than 55m in 2Q so hopefully there' s enough working capital to start pumping more. So KE is perhaps a quarter or two later story - EBITDAX back to $15m per quarter and FR holding less than 10%. Until then, it will probably stuck at the current range.

I think those who can't keep may sell and thus, prices will come down. But, as it come down and with Oil prices near all time high, it also present an golden opportunity for investors to catch a good bargain. What had past already over. What's more important is that Oil prices is going higher and KrisEnergy can only benefits from this. Probably in 2 or 3 more quarters, this would be making money. All set to grow as it advances with Oil prices.

The results looked postive although the profit is still negative. Funding is necssary for expansion and that contributed to the loss in profit. KE would report  better results in the ccoming quarters as long as the oil price stablizes at this level or improve further.   |
