x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Hope those in the Electricity trade can throw some light on how often our USEP or basic or uniform electricity wholesale price has gone above $4,500 per MWH.    It appears that there was 1 occasion on April 23 when the price surged above $3,500.  This was when one of the electricity plants in Jurong was down for maintenance.  Then on July 23,  the price went up twice in a week to above $4,000.    It could be due to hot weathers.    But they were all below the existing cap of $ 4,500.  If the market is spooked by the TPC today,  it looks like the market is taking a sell-first approach before looking into whether the TPC has any effect on electricity-generating companies like Sembawang Corp and Keppel Corp.
