Brokerage can still loan them out. There is no regulation from MAS that disallows brokerage from lending out... if there is regulation, it will help. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Hv read thru RS voluntary Q1 biz update and I'm sanguine abt Co prospects considering: I) robust demand (superb growth rate for Q1) fm both healthcare & technology sector fulfilling current orders (orders till year end) n replenish reserves. 2) ramp up/increased prodn capacity for next 2-3 years 3) deep war chest ($1.1bil cash) to ride out this covid pandemic Having said, IMHO may propose an increase in dividend payout or special dividend Current MCO only affecting 2% of their annual capacity which is benign and temporary. Technically oversold/bottomish and tapering. Shld stage a reversal in due course as strong fundamentals still intact and brighter prospects Vested / Cheers

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Bro Phillip, Maybe it is a possible scenario to put a high sell price to ' lock' up the shares.  The bank/s will hv to put these sell qty aside just in case it gets done, and they need to deliver the shares. Can be set if there' s an option to set sell order to ' good till done' , or in some cases for a month or whatever.  For those platform which is missing these options, one would need to have the discipline to ' lock' shares up daily.  Cud be a bit mah fun for some. As for shares in CDP, as long as one does not participate in share lending program, your shares stay in CDP.    But our efforts may not be enough to twart the tide of selling. I would think these brokerages will take a certain risk level to loan out shares depending on historical trades more than the number of sell queues whether fake or real. Please correct me if I'm wrong. He is wasting time  in theory placing sell Q seems a good idea, in reality, even if you place a sell queue, the shares are still under custodian. The brokerages can still lend them out.. the next question if what if the brokerage loan them out and you sold them, it' s simple. the brokerage will simply borrow from another account to patch the hole. By simple analysis of the average amount of shares shorted, the brokerages know they can easily shift(loan) shares around he is thinking of ' tearing down' a complex network of system hahaha...  easier for him to analyse those counters highly shorted and avoid them

If you had contra earlier, you had lost money. So why contra? 9 out of 10 times you lose. Short sellers are your shadows of your trade. If you contra more, more shorts will appear. You trades are clear to the broking houses as you trade through them. They have their own market makers to supply your shares. So it is always zero sum, UNTIL someone decide to put in more money.  I hope yesterday' s buyers of 1.27 will hold their shares and not to contra again. I am so sick and tired of this counter
