Tomorrow Genting will surge
MARINA Bay Sands (MBS) reported a record performance in the first quarter of 2024, with profit surging 51.5 per cent year on year. Its adjusted property earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation stood at US$597 million for the three months to end-March, up from US$394 million a year ago. This came as revenue rose 36.8 per cent to US$1.2 billion from US$848 million in the first quarter of 2023. |

Was at the AGM this morning. Was given a pencil with some clover seeds at the tip of the pencil. (Door gift? This was not given at registration , but was collected at a separted table after registration) I have just planted the clover seeds. Hope it grows into beautiful plants. Lol There are only 6 board members comprising Executive Chairman, CEO and 4 independent directors. I notice that the board is quite lean compared to other companies which normally have 8 to 10 board members. But the board of directors fees is higher than other companies ($2 million plus).

Fundamentally should go higher. Look at Las Vegas Sands - it reported last night that MBS had the highest quarterly earnings in 1Q24 due to higher tourist traffic cos of Taylor Swift, Coldpaly etc. GENS should be on the same track too.
