Right now, the management of some of the container shippings came out to said they are optimistic for this year....even Samudera management is optimistic. So hang on to your share....it will go up....and the company is paying you around 20% yield to hold on to your share....sit tight... | ||||

Bro Samudera... FYI the Financial Report already out on 24 Feb liao loh and announced the combined dividend of 13.5cents... That is why I am wondering how come still not indicate CD status. I checked last year the XD was 11 May. So hopefully it is same timing. | ||||

The CD will appear when the annual report is out which will set the date on distribution of dividend. The rise in covid in china will result in more congestions and backlog which will cause freight rates to rise further like what happens in US | ||||

Take note. LONDON] The shipping industry is starting to feel the full force of surging diesel and petrol costs. Ship fuel can be made from some of the same ingredients that refiners also put into diesel and petrol. But soaring margins of those two fuels are making their production more attractive, resulting in tighter supplies for the maritime sector. Fuel is shipping' s single biggest expense, so any price surge adds more inflationary pressure to already strained global supply chains. At the start of this week, the cost of marine fuel in Rotterdam peaked at the highest since at least late 2019, up 23 per cent since the beginning of the year.  
 
" It' s one more reason why global commodity prices and inflation are so high," said Mark Williams, an oil products and refining analyst at Wood Mackenzie. Much of the price increase in ship fuel has been due to a rally in crude oil, which is used to make most marine fuel. Rules implemented in 2020 forcing shippers to burn much lower-sulphur product have also helped push up costs. But in Europe, the price of 0.5 per cent marine fuel - known as very low-sulphur fuel oil, or VLSFO - has climbed much quicker than crude. That is because of tight supplies which are, in part, due to the region' s strong diesel market, said Williams.  
 
With the high profits from making diesel, oil refiners have an incentive to put low-sulphur ingredients generated at units called hydrocrackers and hydrotreaters into diesel, rather than into VLSFO. It is a similar story with the strong petrol market. It is more attractive to put another feedstock called low-sulphur vacuum gasoil into units that make the road fuel rather than into VLSFO, though that has been the case for some time. Europe' s VLSFO market has also been supported by an arbitrage opportunity earlier this year that led to cargoes leaving the region to fetch better prices in Asia.
