 Alert Admin 		Edged up slightly to 66.9M short positions week on week. There has been no sign of shortlists winding down their positions for several weeks since the full year 2025 result was last out. Good news that SCI keep promise of delivering 60%-70% dividend payout for next FY 2026, much up from 44%. Factoring in Alinta Energy's net profit Fy2025 of A$530M (S$480) and allowing for approx $190M interest expenses for FY2026 (4% interest x S$4.8b) netting about $290M profit, this dividend payout will work out to be 44 cent to 51 cents per share given 60%-70% dividend policy, much up from current FY 2025 dividend of 25 cent per share. This translate to 6.9%-7.9% dividend yield given now closing price of 6.50, ignoring the growth rate of Alinta Energy for FY2026. This is much better than REITs with 90% dividend policy. Very important catalysts coming is the completion of Alinta Energy acquisition and IPO listing of SCI's indian assets a a whole that will definitely lead to more hot and strong buy of DACH investors as well as other institutional investors toward $8-$9. Keep invested! Try not to make early and quick gain from investing.

As reported, the actual additional shorts is 10.5M compared to my below mentioned last week saying about 10M shorts. Therefore, surged to 61.3M short shares from 50.8M week on week. The rise in general electricity and gas price is likely persistent for many months given a long war and closure of the Strait of Hormuz as ordered by new Supreme leader. Don't forget that more rise in general gas and electricty price, more benefit to SCI. Another example is international Wilmar stock price having soared much since 28 Feb benefiting from oil price surge

Best way to achieve this is thro development of renewable energy (low energy density) & nuclear energy (high energy density) plus the complementary battery energy storage systems. Sembcorp being the purest renewable energy play will benefit bigly. Keppel & Seatrium too.

Sembcorp picks banks for A$3 billion Alinta loan in Aussie push

[SINGAPORE] Singapore energy provider Sembcorp Industries has shortlisted banks for an about A$3 billion (S$2.7 billion) loan to fund its purchase of Australia&rsquo s Alinta Energy, according to people familiar with the matter, a further step in the firm&rsquo s strategy to expand beyond its home market.
 
The loan arrangers are ANZ Group Holdings, DBS Group Holdings and OCBC, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing private matters.
 
Sembcorp had announced the A$6.5 billion acquisition of Alinta from Chow Tai Fook Enterprises, the main investment arm of Hong Kong billionaire Henry Cheng&rsquo s family, at the end of last year. 
 
Australia&rsquo s acquisition financing market has started 2026 on strong footing, following a relatively busy 2025. 
 
A Macquarie-Asset-Management-led group is seeking a A$4.95 billion facility to finance its purchase of Australian logistics firm Qube Holdings, while Brookfield Asset Management and Singapore&rsquo s sovereign wealth fund GIC are raising A$2.8 billion to fund their takeover of Sydney-listed National Storage Reit.
 
Bank of China, China Everbright Bank, Mizuho Financial Group and UOB are also financing the Sembcorp loan, the people added. Representatives of ANZ, DBS and OCBC declined to comment, while Sembcorp, Bank of China, China Everbright Bank, Mizuho and UOB did not respond to requests for comment.
 
The sale will also provide a much-welcome capital infusion to Chow Tai Fook, the largest shareholder of cash-strapped property developer New World Development. 
 
The latest deal comes at a time when global banks are facing the most volatile markets in months as they look to offload billions of dollars of junk debt to fund buyouts, amid the Iran War and concerns about private credit.    
 
Sembcorp&rsquo s A$3 billion loan &ndash split between an acquisition tranche and funds for working capital &ndash partially refinances a A$6.5 billion bridge facility the company borrowed initially to fund the takeover. 
 
Separately, Sembcorp is also raising Singapore-dollar debt to refinance part of the bridging loan.
