True, when Warren Buffett is fearful, we should be fearful too. No doubt human will win in this Covid fight but over how many years, how many dead bodies and dead airlines nobody knows. SIA is important to the survival of Singapore as a center of business and tourism. Protectionism has already emerged out from this Covid crisis and is rising. Without our own airline even if we want to bring business executives and tourists here free-of-charge we can't do it. But it doesn't mean we should buy SIA shares with the mindset to save it. The government has the money do it without us.

In all fairness, SIA used to be a gem.. but be realistic and investor should adjust own risk portfolio to one?s capability.
I think there are better potential stocks than this.. Dyodd My 2cts worth... |

Singapore Airlines Group says its financial exposure to Virgin Australia is limited and it is not obliged to inject capital.
?On the recent announcement of Virgin Australia entering into voluntary administration, the SIA Group has no requirement or obligation to provide capital to Virgin Australia,? it said today in a trading update.

It is better that garmen nationalise SIA so that it can do national service to bring tourists here. Or at least Scoots or part of it can do it. If no tourists, many businesses will die -- casinos, retails, theme parks, tourist attractions, F&B, hotels, airport, taxis...The repercussions can be scary. We don't have kampongs to go back to. | ||||

So if I hold on to the short position (5.63) instead of closing the position and wait till it drop till to a certain amount, then I will not incur the losses ?

I think i know liao, if i?m not wrong,
You bought at 5.63 which became $3.88 after ex right or something so 5.63 - 3.88 is 1.75. So you lose $1.75 x 4000shares = $7,000 Loss But you shorted at 4.69, so 5.63 - 4.69 is 0.94 thus profit is 0.94 x 4000 = $3,760 Profit So total is -7,000 + 3,670 = -$3,240 This just what i think happened, not very sure

It was written 4000 shares one shares at S$1.71 so the amount is $6,860 , They take $6860-$3,760 (profit which I get from selling at $4.69) = LOSS $3,247.96

Yah, I did not see your advise on that. I would rather lost $1400 before the ex rights than to lost $3200... but what if I hold on to the short position?  Will I profit if I hold on to the position instead of closing the position? Now should I short  SIA again ? Sorry for so many questions. Now very lost... left with some 3500 trading funds. need advise from all the expert traders. Thanks

I also don' t know, I am noob to trading.  In the end, I suffered a loss of $3247, loss half of my capital. If I closed the order I will be losing about $1400. Now I am very upset. maybe tradiing is not for me. Is painful to lost this amount during this tough covid19 period.

One of the world' s largest floating systems to convert solar energy into electricity - covering about 45 football fields - will be constructed here by Sembcorp Solar Singapore. The Government also said last year that by 2030,  Singapore will ramp up its solar capacity  to more than seven times of current levels to meet 4 per cent of Singapore&rsquo s total electricity demand

Sorry to hear this. I mentioned earlier to close off before XR. The rights share issue and bonds rights are probably valued by your broker which is not fair since no idea what what price they will be traded.
