1. Cinemas are downhill biz. Else netflix shares wont rocket.
This is common sense. You get "full entertainment" almost free on the internet.
2. Film making are like "lottery biz". Maybe out of 100 films, you get a jackpot.
But MM2 how can fight with big budget production houses ?
Even so, say Hollywood spent $100 mil on a film, after release, days later, it is all over the internet.
3. Yes , once a while, we go cinemas to watch movies. To get the nostalgic feel. But only once a while.
In the 80s, i went cinema almost every week. Now ? I think more than 1 year i havent gone cinema already.
4. Covid crisis
Fewer pple will go watch movies in cinema due to covid.
5. Rental costs not cheap in malls where cinemas occupy as tenants.
So , why invest in cinemas ? I think GIC vested hundreds of mils in Indonesia cinema chain. I really dont understand why they did that. GIC $ = Singaporean $ 你 知 道 吗 : )

I had warned distribution happening when it was trading up in 6/7 series.
More selling pressure. 18 unlinked cases today and means more more more new clusters. It is beginning of the worse to come for Singapore. CB should happen very soon. MM2 will be in further trouble. |

Hmm better SL buy those with dividend still can hold long. Today 38 community and 18 unlinked. More concern is unlinked case. I have SL at 57 1m shares bought at average 62. | ||||

Yes true ...today took some losses..Ouch ..pain la ! hahaha....but still manageable ..overall stll make because of southern and fortress' s gains..I really dont feel good about the mkt because I got some small long positions on US stocks ..US mkt just doesnt feel right recently ..so I only just play selective strong stocks in singapore..but the cards also collapse liow..just have to careful now and trade when opportunties arise
