 Alert Admin 		These are very useful lessons for our younger traders to learn. I also have a whole load of grand-mother stories to tell. But I am glad you shared on this thread, esp. where many looking for high yield and got fooled by the high yield of this stock. Thank you for sharing again uiop1223. Appreciate that!

EHT yield when i entered was almost 10%. So i paid for lesson. Anything too good is suspicious. On hindsight, too high yield suggest the stock is junk grade right? To justify the risk premium so higher yield is demanded.

As for shorting, just like how u pick stocks to long Business prospect good, solid cash balance and minimal debt to short, just think reverse lo.

SIA is a good example. No biz for next few qts cash = $3b vs liab = $11.9b how not to fall? Target companies with shortage of cash and suspected fall in biz for next few qtrs

I shorted Genting at $0.9 and waited few mths before it finally drop to $0.67 this company got huge cash so despite no rev, its share price didnt fall much until results release when it didnt declare div which surprised mkt.

For HPHT, oh well, a lot of people chasing dividends without looking at other facts and figures in financial sttms. Like i say, 10% yield is a red flag. Look at parkwaylife, its DPU increase and share price also appreciate as mkt knows this is a solid reits. So a good solid reit seldom gives 10% as DPU increae, demand for this reit increase which push up reit unit price and yield falls.

 Alert Admin 		Sorry Kitty, if I had depended on HPH trust dividend to survive, I' d be eating the north wind. Only now there is a chance for dividend increase. No, this stock was not for me. Maybe for shorters for the past 7-8 years since IPO. Now, more tricky to short. But possible. Ask uiop1223

The container volume at eight major Chinese ports increased 18.4% year-on-year in early October 2020 compared to the same period of last year.


The ports of Tianjin, Shanghai, Ningbo-Zhoushan, Xiamen, Guangzhou and Shenzhen all posted a growth rate of over 20%.

Export container volume of the eight ports increased 19.8% year-on-year while the inland container volume up 14.6% in early October.

The surge in container volumes coincides a reinstatement of blanked services on the transpacific, a surge in freight rates, and a shortage empty containers at major Chinese ports.

Cargo throughput of major coastal ports increased 15.8% year-on-year, and export cargo throughput increased 23.1%.

Crude oil shipments at major coastal ports kept increasing and posted a growth of 27.7% year-on-year, among which the port of Dalian posted nearly 60% growth rate, while the port inventory increased 38.1%.

Metal ore shipments at major Chinese ports increased 21.2% year-on-year. The port inventory declined 7.4%.

In early October, cargo throughput at the three major Yangtze river  ports, Nanjing, Wuhan and Chongqing declined 3.5%, and the container volume increased 16.3% year-on-year.

For the three months ended 30 September 2020, the throughput of the Greater China region increased by 3.4% to 26,069,126 TEU (3Q2019: 25,208,454 TEU), accounting for 77.9% of the Group&rsquo s total throughput. For the nine months ended 30 September 2020, throughput of the Greater China region decreased by 1.6% to 70,106,667 TEU (3Q2019: 71,223,785 TEU), and accounted for 77.0% of the Group&rsquo s total throughput.

HPH say they have 2 digit increase. not comparing, just to show, port activities in China is better during Q3, not as market speculate, data
was made up by China.

When comes to stk mkt, u have to be nimble and not be stubborn. Take advantage of opportunities and threats. Dont die die fall in love and stick to a stk. Conditions changed all the time.
