So you become top shareholder without understanding company act ， transactions executions methodology and reporting.. gosh.. If there is a tussle between the old team and new incoming  team- This may push up the shares as  the different camps may up their stake in the company to buy up more shares in the open market to have more say in their voting rights. A few scenarios can happen:- 1) Existing CEO and old directors walked away for the new team to take over (fastest resolution) 2) Tussle between the old team and new incoming  team- This will depend on the results of the voting as scheduled. As such  the different camps may up their stake in the company to buy up more shares in the open market to have more say in their voting rights. Whatever it is , I do not see the link of market halt to the above 2 scenarios? But you won' t know their intent... I have come across many buyouts, stock listing, spin-off etc etc, usually whose interest they take care first??? Of course own interest lah.... perhaps hope that the old director walk way without tussle.. then it won' t drag..   but this also means that your wish that they will buy more shares from open market won' t happen...but this wish won' t happen anyway even if the old directors wish to pursue
