x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Go LONG? Nearer to 3.00 is a better level. But if she gets there, I will wait and see if she wants to break 3.00 to show us lower. She wont be paying dividends again until April 2017. So if there is a rate hike at the next FOMC Meeting on 20-21st September, I do expect ST Engrg to trade to the downside. And I wont rule out a move to below 3.00.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	This is what I said to my snipers over the weekend...   So what is clear is Yellen is hawkish now. This is a change from her previous dovish stance when she calmed the markets with reassuring words that the Fed will be accomodative to  help the economy to stabilise and grow. So another rate hike this year is in the pipeline. The next big question on everyone' s mind is " How soon? September? Or December?" The next job data (due next Friday) will be closely watched by market players. Another  good set of numbers will surely set the tone for Yellen & Co to lean in favour of a rate  hike in September when the FOMC next meet. So guys... come Monday, we watch the price action. Possible scenarios are: 1. A quiet and lacklustre market where everyone adopts a wait-and-see attitude and try to size each other up.  2. Profit taking in sectors which are sensitive to a rate hike and especially if that sector has been registering gains of late and there is no near term catalyst to hold back sellers. One such sector is REITs. They paid dividends in July. The next payout is in late October. And they have been gaining quite alot and are trading at or nearer their 1-Yr High than their 1-Yr Low. 3. Buying of stocks traded in US dollar may occur. A rate hike is positive for the US dollar. But I would caution one to look at the potential downside for such a US dollar stock too. Becoz the downside, if any, will wipe out whatever currency exchange gains. 4. We also keep a lookout for the CON BULL. We saw the market screening " CON BULL" on Tuesday to Thursday. After that, on Friday, market makers decided to stop holding up the market. We then saw how prices retreated after that... SingTel... Starhub... SGX...  SIA... etc. And the reason for that retreat has got to be becoz Yellen was due to speak last nite and everyone knew that speech can be a market-turning speech. So market makers ran road first. Now that Yellen has spoken, there is more visibility in that we  now know the Fed intends to have another rate hike. What is still not clear is ...WHEN? And so we should not discount the possibility that market makers may come back on Monday to resume the screening of " CON BULL" . Why? Becoz the next FOMC Meeting  is on 20th to 21st of September. From Monday to 21st Sep, there are 17 trading days. Market makers may want to use this period to push up stocks and make from the LONG side. Then when nearer to 21st Sep...start unloading as well as collect SHORTs. 5. Another possibility which comes to mind is... market makers continue to hammer the  market down first between now and 21st Sep. Then on 21st Sep, if the rate hike comes, it becomes a case of the widely expected rate hike being already factored into hammered down stock prices. The market can then celebrate that announcement with a rebound rally. Conclusion So, as to which scenario will come to pass, only the market makers know. We dont make the market. We can only react to it. So come Monday and for the rest of the week, we watch the market makers and see if they want to paint the market red or to continue screening " CON BULL" . And until we see some firm action one way or the other, meantime, their trading range is our route map. SingTel 4.18 to 4.28. If extended play, then to 4.33. Starhub 3.72 to 3.81. If extended play, then 3.83 SGX 7.58 to 7.75. Wilmar 3.06 to 3.11.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Generals... I have been watching ON and OFF but no feel. That' s why I didnt say anything. The price was whipsawing between 3.23 to 3.35 last week. Last Friday' s range was 3.23 to 3.27. Still watching. Could be just retail bulls and bears fighting it out. But while waiting for more visibility in this counter, I was trading SingTel, SGX, Starhub and Wilmar last week. Outcome of my trades was $IBEH $ONG arrr.   Still watching them today for 1st day reaction to post-Yellen speech at Jackson Hole. Cant see any clear direction yet though on the surface, market looks weak during early trading. But this can change suddenly and without warning so I am not inclined to go out there to anyhow launch toepedoes as of now. I will wait for more visibility. Hope you boys have been having fun.
