x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	I have always said that TH is doing SMM SHs a favour to provide an exit at 8c.  And those who sold at 8c dont want to take a chance in case MGO doesnt materialise due to conditions not met.  I mentioned today that 8.3c yesterday was a window of opportunity for SHs to exit.  Will 8c hold tmrw? Many people here got offended when we speak based on facts. Simple calculations say that SMM will run out of money by end 2022.  Looks like it may be early because of mismanage,ent.  PRC workers are not as timid as bangla workers.  More problems for SMM because not Chinese Embassy has stepped in and some PRC residents have been actively involved.  MOM and Tan See Leng may pressurise SMM more. I expected SMM to lose $600m in 2H2021.  But now with today' s announcement it may be a lot more...maybe $700 to $750m. Likely, tmrw no buyers fpr 8c.  Now the only hope is MGO doesnt get voided

The accounting for yard projects is quite different.  3 major projects (Farmosa 2 jackets, Drillship Atlas and Shell Vito Semisub) that SCM is rushing to complete by Dec originally will be delayed by 1-2 months, meaning they cannot recognise a few hundred million dollars worth of revenue by year end 2021. Cost will be incurred to advance the projects but the big chunk of revenue cannot be recognised until Q1 next year. That is the cause of the steep losses expected for H2 2021.

Key challenges are delays in the delivery of equipment arising from border controls in some countries purchase of new components requiring a longer lead time due to supply chain constraints and slower than expected recruitment of additional skilled labour. Sembmarine has also been hit by the continuing attrition of skilled workers and work disruptions, including stop work orders, due to measures to contain the pandemic. Of its 16 projects under execution, five have been further delayed by between one and three months. The company expects to incur cost overruns of a " material amount" . It is currently in talks with counterparties to mitigate the overruns. Sembmarine will only be able to quantify the actual losses closer to the end of the year, depending on its Q4 performance. The magnitude of losses incurred will depend the continuing impact of Covid-19 measures on the construction progress of the projects, including the availability of labour, the health of workers and supply chain delays.
