Wrong.  Such tests are not allowed outside of the laboratory or clinical settings in the US market. Developing a new test kit for " broader use" will take time and does FDA plan to approve serology test for home use - doubt so.

To ditch the medical channels only and go into mass marketing ala home based test-kits is the right direction. Like pregnancy test kits, one can buy and check. If found positive, go clinic and get confirmation test done. Potential for sales throughout US is huge.
