After all the O&G has doing well. With the merger, shouldn't is be a boon.

At this moment oil and gas industry is really stirling even Warren Buffet has  increased  his stake in them.
He ain' t no stupid, he can smell pretty well where the money is

In this volitile time, whether merge or not, is still a big question mark. 
If SCM is in debt heavily, do you think keppel share holders will vote " YES" to merge ?
If SCM book order rise to above 3 billion, do you think SCM share holders will vote " YES" to merge ? 
Shareholders will defend their own interest. If not, then, they have their ownself to blame when they have to pay for rights. 
Merging will only make sense if everyone wins. 

I am positive on SCM for the next few months where order may come in. 
So long as, SCM management don' t screw us again and again.

Keppel Corp (KC) fan keeps saying KC is much better. 

We are all investors. That means only if share price moves then can benefit us. 

From $0.08 to $0.131, SM had made a gain of 63.75% (0.131-0.08/0.08 x100%) without share buybacks. Certainly, to me it is a good investment tool. Note again that it went up 63.76% without share buybacks. 

The point here is, people have been saying that with billions of shares, it is very hard to move the share price. Well, in order to have 63.75% gain, definitely the demand was stronger than supply then.

Is it healthy for SM to take a short term break, after advancing 63.75% before another up wave? Yes, it is. Share prices don' t move up like a straight line.

Of course, people might want to separate KOM from KC now. Moving forward, both KOM and SM are all under Bayberry. All the expertise of getting contracts etc, as claimed (of the ability of KOM),  should be under Bayberry by year end. 

And, from now on, SM is having the first mover advantage. Buying SM is equivalent to buying into Bayberry now. KOM&rsquo s conversion is only at the end of the year end. Of course, provided you believe in the recovery of oil, gas and green energy. 

On 2nd May 2022, The Business Times reported that: &ldquo Meanwhile, Singapore Telecommunication, SATS, Keppel, Corporation, City Developments, and Sembcorp Marine received the highest net institutional  INFLOWS  for the 5 sessions."

On one hand, those stortists are saying that the oil and gas industry is already gone. 
But on the other hand, they are praising Korea&rsquo s oil and gas, shipbuilding industry. They are saying Korea oil and gas is recovering ahead of SM/ Bayberry. 

Yet in another separate posting, they are saying SM/ Bayberry (New Com) can' t compete with low cost operators from Vietnam and China. 
Oil and Gas in those two countries are catching up, and are doing well, they cited.

Should we put all the above pointers together, it will form inconsistent and confusing messages by these shortists. What these shortlists are saying:-
1) SM/ Bayberry can' t compete with low cost operations in Vietnam and China. 
Question here is, how come Korea can compete with them then? Does that mean Korea' s operating cost is even lower than Vietnam and China?

2) Again, they are saying the Oil, Gas and shipbuilding industry is gone already. But on the other hand, they are suggesting Korea, Vietnam, China are doing well, and are recovering ahead of SM/ Bayberry. 
Does that mean those 3 countries are operating in a different industry than SM/ Bayberry? So is the oil and gas industry gone or is doing well and is recovery?   

To sum up, are those shortists being neutral, being objective in their argument.
The answer is NO.

Those shortlists' pointers are not consistent.   

The real issue is that they are already holding on to short positions on SM. They are paying finance and roll over charges on those shares they have already borrowed. 

Shortists only paid 10% of the share price, they will face margin calls should SM share price continue to go up. 

They ignore all the real discussions of whether the industry is recovering or if the merger is good for SM and KOM. They just want to talk bad, want to drown SM.

When we talk about A, they will point at B. They are only finding bones in eggs.  They are commenting from their investing positions they are holding on to, not on market conditions.

They are like saying all the companies in the whole world are not facing operation cost hikes, risk factors, etc, except SM.

That is the reason, they have to constantly talk bad about SM 

The right way of discussion is supposed to be on the potential of Oil and gas, green energy.

But those shortists are trying to find bone in the egg. They are not interested to know if there is the potential of Oil and Gas, or green energy or on merging deal. They ignore the recovering conditions of SM/ Bayberry. Their discussion is not on foundational improvement or technical betterment. 

The problem here is that people have already held to short positions.  Worse still, they might keep adding on short, averaging up. How not to keep talking bad on SM?
 

They can&rsquo t sit still as they are paying money. They can&rsquo t hold SM for another half a year, or years lo. They only paid 10% of the price using CFD or DMA. They might be facing margin calls. 

Truly, for where the money is, there is the heart.

The tenet of democracy is free speech. Why let what the Negativists,  Shortists, Margin players, CFD players, says bothers you? Everyone has the same rights as you in their investment decisions and methods of investment. They have to pay for their investments just like you do and they can also make or lose money on their investments just like you. There is nothing wrong with what you perceived as the best and on the same vein there is nothing wrong with those who perceived differently from you. If you feel the  Shortists, the Margin players, and the CFD players, are disadvantaging you, then you could similarly set up the same type of accounts they have. There is no need to be angry with what others say just like they are not angry with what you say. Dissimilar analysis and opinions are inevitable. That is why there are winners and losers in the market. Alternatively, do not read the postings from others who have dissimilar opinions as yours. Why worry for them when they are not worried about you! Enjoy your investments and stick to your beliefs and let not others, including myself, bothers you, or be an impediment to your investment decisions. I like to wish you best and prosperity in all your investments.
