If there is a briefing on the result, guys here should go squeeze Mgt on their forward guidance. I said this cause there are always tell-tale signs on their forward guidance statement. Last year, their forward guidances is on BOTH revenue and profit. This time round only talk about revenue only. Trade with care. Not vested.

At current price, it is even more attractive to pick now for LT. If don hv the pocket, better to forget short term for peanuts. Pocket the 5.6c div first, and then just patiently wait for 2Q result which shd show an improvement over 1Q. With the variants of the virus, now spreading all over the globe, nations without sufficient ppe will not be able to withstand the onslaught of these mutants. Imo, will take not months but years to eradicate these deadly pests. Countries, this time, really got no choice , got to wake up, stock, even overstock quality PPEs, etc, etc, mainly from MT. MT also got no choice , got to work non stop to supply and supply the much needed stuff, also got no choice for profit to keep going up and up. But sad to say, but whatodo if countries like India, being the largest vaccine producer, were inadequate to protect themselves, resulting mutations spreading all over the globe when they travel to other countries, S' pore included. And sadly these is spreading like wildfire all over the world, with mutants mutating themselves into new mutants that the vaccines becoming less and less effective. Sad lo.

Medtecs Q1 net profit jumps to US$13.2 million as PPE demand ' remains elevated'
CATALIST-LISTED protective gear maker Medtecs International Corp more than tripled its first-quarter earnings year on year, as demand for its output " remains elevated" .
Net profit rose to US$13.2 million for the three months to March 31, up from US$3.67 million in the year-ago period, according to unaudited results out on Thursday. Revenue rose 5.9 per cent on year, to US$42.2 million, amid the raging Covid-19 pandemic.
The board noted that " it will be a challenge" for its full-year performance to bust the record revenue and profit of 2020. Still, it expects turnover to grow quarter on quarter for the April-to-June period, barring unforeseen circumstances.
The spread of new virus variants has driven higher-volume orders for Medtecs, and the group has ramped up engagements for group purchases, the board disclosed.
Medtecs is also building its retail arm through e-commerce platform Amazon, which the board said " will not only bolster its revenue stream but will generate more recognition and confidence which will help the group secure more long-term orders" .
Meanwhile, the group is working towards constructing a personal protective equipment manufacturing facility, which it said would strengthen its position as a stockpile provider.

come to think of it.....last quarter was not so good compared to the previous quarter probably due to the roll out of the vaccine. with the virus still so prevalent, probably orders and profit will be much better in Q2

TW MT price is green while MT in sgx is very red. Obviously price manipulated here for BBs to collect 5.6c div, which will CD for 2 more days, excluding tdy. But wondering why kongsi buyback mandate not activated to support and collect the 5.6c div and add as profit for kongsi.
