Goldman Says Gold Near $5,000 Possible If Fed Standing Damaged - Yahoo Finance

(Bloomberg) -- Gold could rally to almost $5,000 an ounce if the Federal Reserve&rsquo s independence were damaged and investors shifted just a small portion of holdings from Treasuries into bullion, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. said.

The bank outlined a range of possible outcomes for the metal, with a baseline forecast for a surge to $4,000 an ounce by mid-2026 a so-called tail-risk scenario of $4,500 and an estimate of almost $5,000 if just 1% of the privately-owned US Treasury market were to flow into gold.

People&rsquo s Bank of China increased its gold holdings for a 10th straight month in August as it continues to diversify its reserves away from the US dollar. Gold has surged 37% so far this year, buoyed by a weaker dollar, monetary policy easing, sustained central bank buying, and heightened geopolitical and economic uncertainty.

 Alert Admin 		Thanks for the info as I did not know they tried hk ipo before. At the moment , the longer the gold price stays above $3600, my original target of $1 has to be revised up as my original calculation is base on $3500 gold price.

FYI, Zijin Gold, a spin off of Zijin Mining Grp is planning a HK$3 billion IPO in HongKong to raise capital for acquisition.

My wishful thinking is since cnmc is the only gold and silver proxy on sgx, given its market cap and liquidity now, I hope cnmc can be considered for the MAS EQDP ，
Given that the buy up recently , it is highly possible ?
