I do not recall any Singtel report about proceeds from IPO Netlink trust be dished out as special dividends. So far Singtel said that the proceeds from the IPO will reduce debt, inject more capital for expansion and invest into new tech. Anyone read such news about special div payout? Please share.

Yes bro. $3.40 to $3.60 is the area where her long term support can be found as evidenced by her 2-Yr chart. She will be reporting results in early November. As in previous two years, 6.8 cts dividends is expected. XD date will be in mid-December. So the catalyst for her to recover to $3.85 to $3.95 region will start from mid-November onwards. Between now and mid-November, there is no catalyst for her to rise. Hence, she may well go into consolidation mode during which she may test her support at $3.40 to $3.60 region. ![]()

Break 3.60 confirms down trend otherwise trade the range - 3.60 - 4.00.   So 3.60 is definately a price to take a punt to rebounce and if fails, 3.40 average down another punt. :)   |

Maybank just initiated with a " Hold" call and TP of $3.83. Too perfectly balanced? Initiate coverage with HOLD SingTel&rsquo s geographically-diversified but telco-focussed portfolio should insulate it from Singapore-centric risks. That said, TPG&rsquo s entry will likely intensify competition in Australia while India remains a hot bed of competition. An expected special cash dividend from Netlink Trust&rsquo s (NLT SP, Not Rated) IPO proceeds provides share-price support in the short term, but medium-term investor interest may require the majority of SingTel&rsquo s parts to go in the right direction. Our SOTP-based TP is SGD3.83. We prefer direct exposure to two of its parts: AIS (ADVANC TB, BUY) and Intouch (INTUCH TB, BUY). Fire vs ice We believe that heated competition in Singapore and Australia will manifest in higher handset subsidies rather than wireless-revenue erosion, which is more aggressive than market assumptions. However, if wireless revenue in both countries takes a 1 % hit in FY18E, our core EPS forecasts would take a 0.5% hit. Cooler competition in Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines, which make up a combined 41% of our SOTP, may help offset these pressures with unlisted Telkomsel having the largest impact. Un-priced swing factors Aside from the wireless space, competition for Singapore enterprise contracts is also rising, from StarHub (STH SP, SELL) and M1 (M1 SP, SELL). These are gunning for their shares of the pie. Thankfully, an increasing volume of work in local IT services and from SGD2.4b worth of Smart Nation contracts could provide growth for all players, in our estimation. SingTel&rsquo s Digital Life division and cyber security outfit, Trustwave, are also gaining global/regional scale, which could accelerate profit contributions. Neither cheap nor expensive SingTel trades at 1SD above its 5- and 10-year P/E means of 15x and 12x, respectively. This is fair, in our view, given its greater diversification than Singapore-centric peers, it trades near our SOTP TP of SGD3.83. Successful subscriber re-contracting without cost jumps may offer upside risk while tariff wars are a downside risk.  |

Yes bro.   But whether will get there or not is another thing. BUY ZONE is 3.40 to 3.60. But we havent even seen 3.60 yet. Last Low is 3.66 which was seen last 2 days. Last nite, Dow plunged a whooping 234 pts. But our market appears to be unperturbed. We need to see if this is a case of market makers artificially holding the market up to facilitate distribution. They cant let the market drop just yet becoz they havent finished unloading. This happens at times.

Sentiments have turned weak. Some weak holders are bailing out. Traders who went in at 3.70 to 3.75 for short term trading saw their cut loss triggered when 3.70 broke and 3.66 was reached. This is a good index stock which will rebound back to 3.85 to 3.95 region by mid-December when her estimated 6.8 cts dividends go XD. Meantime, dont buy and dont add. Wait for her to find her bottom which based on her 2-Yr chart can be anywhere from 3.40 to 3.60.   No need to cut if you can hold and stomach the paper loss meantime.

Now 3.66 : 3.67. Wait for 3.60. If that breaks, 3.50 is next. Then 3.40. |

We ain' t seen her bottom yet. Be patient and wait on. Afterall, no catalyst between now and mid-November for her to run up. She is reporting results in early-November. Her estimated 6.8 cts dividend will go XD only in mid-December. So patience is the key for now. Maybe when she hits 3.60, we will see a rebound to 3.70 followed by further consolidation at 3.60 to 3.70 region. Wall Street is toppish. People there are standing near the door. At the first sight of weakness, they jump off the plane. Just look at Dow' s Intraday Chart for last Friday and you will see what I mean. And this is US Futures now. You can see they are jittery about tonite. https://www.investing.com/indices/indices-futures

Yes Bro, Can buy at below 3.60 will be great but whether she will go there or not is the question. Becoz if she ain' t going there,   we may have no choice but to grab at 3.60 to 3.69 or risk missing the boat altogether.

This is her 2-Yr daily chart. The blue circles show where she previously found a bottom and rebounded. The blue box show the area where she last consolidated before making a run to $4.00 region where she hit a resistance. She will report her results in early November and declare dividends. Based on last two years' track record, she is likely to declare dividends of 6.8 cts. This will go XD in mid-December.  As such, I expect her to continue to consolidate at current levels, ie. 3.70 to 3.84 before going lower when Wall Street goes into a retracement. Whether she will find her bottom at 3.60 or 3.50 or retest 3.40, we can only wait for the market to show us. The silver lining here is that 3.40 to 3.60 is a window of opportunity to buy. Becoz about a week before her results, she will likely firm up and trade at a level off her LOWs in anticipation of decent profits and thereafter go on to move higher for her Dividend Play as her XD date draws nearer in mid-December.
