Oct is also a down month usually. Lets wait and see what happens in mid Nov onward. Prices should improve if no bad news hit the market. Have to be patient and don' t let Mr. Market control your moods (what I learn from Ben Grahram' s books :-)

Uniquely Singapore and only happen here.
Companies like Midas, Vallianz including Nam Cheong reported multiple contract wins but prices didn't go up but doubled and spiralled down......

I read a report (unfortunately, can' t find the report again) that due to the soft economies in China and EU and large shale oil supply from US, oil prices are expected to continue falling. Also over supply of oil rigs will see significant fall in production in 2016. So, the oil & gas sectors will fall into bear territory. Most companies in the sector have taken a big hit. NCH is expected to be negatively affected from 2015 or 2016. Hence no amount of good news will do much for the price right now. According to the report, short term is not so good for o& g sector but medium and long term is still good. There will always be demand for oil. I don' t really bother about what the market thinks because the markets view is so short term. For me, I ask myself if the company is a good one and if the price is cheap and the management of the company is strong and the co has low debt, I am happy to wait for the fickle market to change it' s mind. Don' t be surprised if in a month or two or three, the market suddenly is bullish or o& g again. Just sit tight and buy when the price falls to rock bottom.

Yes... weird right? they invested 30 million USD in indonesian company, they secured sales of 3 vessels, they even bought back 1 million shares but STILL price is DROPPING! Don' t know why, really makes me scratch my head...

Perhaps if I just cut this counter this counter will suddenly bounce to 50 cents.... I entered the market in really such a wrong time... haiiis.....

Excerpts from analysts' reports

CIMB says buy Nam Cheong (54 cents target) ahead of blistering 3Q results

Nam Cheong has bagged US$126m vessel sales in Sep, taking YTD vessel sales to US$505m, surpassing the 2013 record of ~US$500m. It is also investing around US$30.7m (implied 1x P/BV) for a 30% stake in the enlarged share capital of BBRM, the indirect subsidiary of Marco Polo Marine.

We bump up our FY14-16 EPS by 2-3% as we update our vessel recognition schedule and raise contributions from vessel chartering, thus lifting our target price &ndash still pegged to 9x CY15 P/E (peer average).

With vessel sales announced on 19 Aug to be materially recognised in 3Q, we expect Nam Cheong to post a blistering 3Q net profit of RM88M (+50% yoy), its highest quarterly net profit ever that augurs well for its near-term share price performance.

Maintain Add with catalysts coming from stronger-than-expected sales and earnings.

Despite of all positive announcements this counter is still sleeping.... ZzzZzzZzzz....

I start thinking is because, unlike US, Singapore has a very small population and only a handful of it investing their money in stocks... so unless BB jumping in, the price will be like this for a very looong time..... (just look at AP Oil).

The market is really jittery about a possible major correction and no amount of good news will life stock prices. Just about every stock is bitten down. I think more pain to come in Oct and Nov. I have little fear about NCH as the company seems to be doing everything right. I agree it' s a great time to accum. actually, there are so many shares now that have fallen to attractive levels and perhaps even nicer in Oct.

Nam Cheong has secured sale contracts for three vessels worth a total of US$41m, on the back of five vessel sales to PT BBR that was secured during the same month. This brings the total orders in Sep to eight which are collectively worth about US$126m.

One 5,150 BHP AHTS vessel was sold to a Norway-based repeat customer, Vega Offshore Group. Orders for two 6,500 BHP AHTS vessels were also from repeat customers.

With these contracts, Nam Cheong&rsquo s order book stands at about RM1.9b. We maintain our BUY rating with S$0.55 fair value estimate on the stock.

Buy into growth stock when overall market sentiment is weak. May not be able to get this current price of 43 to 43.5 if Hong Kong's Hang Seng index is in green after Dow Jones sold showing last Friday.
