Yangzijiang Shipbuilding added to MSCI Singapore IndexYangzijiang Shipbuilding has been added to the MSCI Singapore Index. The inclusion will take place as of the close of Nov 25. The counter has had a good year with shares rising by some 65.58% year to date. As at Nov 6, shares in Yangziijang closed 5 cents higher or 2% up at $2.55. For the 1HFY2024 ended June 30, Yangzijiang posted a record-high net profit of RMB3.06 billion ($564.9 million), 77.2% higher y-o-y. Revenue increased by 15.3% y-o-y to RMB13 billion from higher shipbuilding activities and improved shipping charter rates. |

BERLIN : Global shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has ordered 24 new container ships from two Chinese shipyards with a combined investment volume of about $4 billion, it said on Wednesday. Twelve ships, each with a capacity of 16,800 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units), will be built by Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group, while the other 12, with a capacity of 9,200 TEU each, will come from New Times Shipbuilding Company Ltd. |
