So a better way to play, from a trader' s perspective is to sell before CD and wait for the retracement to come and go first. Then reload for the rebound. A more aggressive CFD trader will, in addition after unloading his LONGs before XD, launch torpedoes to open SHORT positions on XD. SingTel is one stock which has LOW and HIGH Tides. Get to know her well. And know her tides...her rhythm... her menstrual cycle so to speak...and generally her Bawu. Just like to woo a woman, you will invest time and effort to find out her likes and dislikes first. Then groom her and position her within your striking distance for you to move in for the kill. 1.1 billion is no small sum, and singtel' s debt is not that critical. Confirm will have some form of special dividends, but I' m thinking more at the range of 5-6 cents | ||||

Last AGM, the chairman said that they will use the NetLink proceed to paid off debts, investment and consider special Dividends. My gut feeling is that they will issue a special div, but may be limited. I am vested. | ||||

Special dividends ... may have or may not have. Nobody knows. Unless you know someone who works in SingTel and was present in the room where the Board Meeting was held. A clerk. A kopi-soh. A security guard. Or you know someone who works in the accounting firm which audits SingTel' s books. Two analysts from different houses have suggested...and I must emphasize SUGGESTED ... coz these analysts also dont know... that SingTel may declare special dividends to reward shareholders for their bumper windfall of $1.1 bn following her divestment of her substantial stake in NetLinks. Historically, SingTel' s stock price tends to rise from Oct to Dec for Results cum Dividend Play. The usual dividends, going by previous years, is expected to be 6.8 cts. In addition, if a special dividend is declared and if it is substantial, that will be like fitting an extra turbo engine on this stock.

Results will be about the same plus minus. If profits lower...also will be only slightly lower. But Australian dollar has risen against Sing dollar. Hence, contributions from Optus is expected to improve on better exchange rate. A telco' s revenue is recurring in nature. Whoever were subscribers of SingTel' s services and paying fees to SingTel in the previous quarter are likely to be still subscribers and paying the same fees in the current quarter. Yes, some subscribers may on expiry of their contracts, jump ship to change to another telco but this forms a small percentage of the subscriber base. Have faith in this Sure Come Stock and she will reward you for your faithfulness and devotion to her. At her last Result cum Dividend Run in Jul/Aug, she rewarded me with a truckload of some 20,000 eggs.  So put your trust in her and get ready for an EGG-CITING ride !!!
