But long-term dividend investors will need to consider these headwinds: a. their revenue has been on downward trend. b. customer-base has been shrinking. c. interests on their humongous loans will keep going up in this interest rate upcycle. c.  Capex will continue to weigh on earnings. So, even with the reduced 1.2c div per year now taking up just 85.7%  of current profits, will it cross to over 100% of profits soon? Maybe after the 2 years of promised 1.2c and then another big reduction? DYODD  " i went to see the financial statmenet. the 9M earning per share 1.05 cents. Assuming it is same per quarter, company will earn 1.4 cents per share. they can lay 1.2 cents if the free cash flow is ok, but this is 85% of their profit. revenue and profit has been dropping. will it worsen?"

The truth is the business environment is tough and there is a need to take drastic measures. If they had carried on with the unsustainable dividend in the end it might lead to a bankruptacy. Everyone invested with their eyes open. If you have read their financial statements carefully, or even read other financial blogs, everyone had been commenting that the dividends are unsustainable. Even the management had been warning of a cut. If you think that the cut was too drastic, that is for anyone to comment. There are people who felt taking a big cut now is better. The management did not misappropriate the company money, did not mislead the investors in anyway. Unless you can prove that some big shareholders had unloaded beforehand knowing that the dividends would be drastically cut, there is nothing for the management to answer.

Do you realise that with the end of QE and rising interest rates around the world it is  becoming much harder and more expensive to refinance debt? If they wouldn' t have cut dividend they may have been unable to refinance their loans next year or pay punitive interest rates, putting the trust at risk of bankruptcy. The control of manager has changed after the IPO, so you can' t blame them for saddling the trust with high debt they are just trying to resolve the issue. The only thing you can blame them for is that they didn' t cut the dividend earlier, but that wouldn' t have been well received neither..
